Today, he got up in front of people in Pennsylvania and actually claimed that the recent drop in oil prices is due to Bush lifting the presidential ban on offshore drilling. He doesn't mention the fact that every economist and business website attributes the drop to a decrease in demand, and the fact that Hurricane Dolly moved through the gulf doing no harm to rigs.
Jeez, a few months ago I was actually considering voting for him.

I despise the current commercial of his running on television in DC, BLAMING Obama for the high gas prices. Actually, all of his commercials so far have been annoying. I switch the channel immediately, but they seem to be playing on almost every channel at all times!!
Because I live in North East PA they showed the entire speech instead of Ellen this morning.
While I laughed at the majority of his speech I did hear one idea that interested me: He suggested that the president meet with congress every now and then and have a question and answer session like they do in the U.K. I think this could be a good idea if it was approached carefully (unlike in the UK where it is an excuse for party complaints).
That said, the speech was laughable, but the town hall was interesting (especially the democrat criticizing the gas tax holiday). Add to all of that the fact that he couldn't fill the FM Kirby center and I feel this might have hurt McCain more than it helped him.
