Calling 911 over McNuggets is absurd.
Possibly more absurd? If that McDonalds actually has some sort of no-refund policy.

And is that necessary to this story?
I wonder if she just wanted to start an argument or if she would have been content if they refunded the money.

SweetQ, I was going to say the same thing about the calorie and fat content. Although that to me was the funniest part.
I do think it's ridiculous that they wouldn't just give her her money back though.

The story itself is absurd. The only thing that should be questioned here is her being charged for one item that they did not have and refusing to issue a refund. THAT is indeed illegal. All sales are not final - especially if the order was not correct.
Not justifying the call to 911 - but there is indeed an issue here.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I believe this is considered a misdemeanor and carries a fine.
In the other thread there are several similar cases linked with audio. The best is the Burger King one. There, a woman called the police dpt. not 911 thank god. The Police dispatcher who handled her call is classic.

Posted: 3/4/09 at 11:31amthe mcdouble is a double cheesburger with only one slice of chese rather than the standard two. by cutting the 2nd slice, they were able to offer it on the dollar menu, unlike the double cheesburger which retails for $1.39. 39 cents for a slice of cheese.

Me too, danmag. I love McNuggets. I've already decided I'm getting myself some on the way to the airport Friday, calorie content be damned.
What a great story. Regardless of her attitude, she deserved a refund. If we want to get really legal here, that's bordering on breach of contract. 911 is obviously not necessary, but I'd be pissed.
