Is anyone else in love with this show? It took just a little bit for me to get hooked on it but I am currently obsessed. I've missed most of this season but I'm catching up on my DVR right now and I'm watching the episode where she gets "I Will Survive" stuck in her head. IT's brilliant.

Posted: 10/9/05 at 11:57amAnything Glenn Gordon Caron is involved in is fascinating. Patricia Arquette is wonderful as Alison and the scripts are well written. The true story of Alison DuBois is really interesting, too. She (the real Alison) loves the show and feels that it is very true to her situation (with some theatrical license) when she began her work. I never miss an episode.

Well, she's no longer underrated in the (pun intended) television medium. She did win the Emmy for her inaugural season on "Medium." And she's showing more range this season, I feel.
Side note: I hate to sound catty, but is she getting larger? Was she perhaps or is currently pregnant?

She has always been on the "chunky" side (I can say this without being catty because I'm on that side too) but the difference is that they are not dressing her well. Her clothing is too tight and this makes her look even bigger, particularly in the bust. If Arquette's Emmy dress was any indication, she needs a better stylist in real life, as well well as on the show.

I LOOOOVE this show!!! I didn't start watching it until partway through the first season, because I don't watch much tv and didn't want to get caught up in another show, but I love it! I got caught up over the summer in reruns, and am soo glad that Patricia Arquette won the Emmy! I think this season is starting off even better (and the "I Will Survive" episode is brilliant--just coming up with what song would work would have taken a lot of time.
And, bwaysinger--I wondered if she was pregnant, too. Not because of size, but because she seems to be dressed a little differently, and they seem to not be doing very many full shots (except when she has something kind of loose on or is holding something). Could just be coincidence, though.

Yeah, I was really happy for her when she won.

Bluemoon, you really think she's chunky? I never thought so. In this particular episode (the "I Will Survive" one), she really looked a tad pregnant in one scene and I just wondered. I certainly never thought she was large (or larger) in season one. Then again, any female on camera who weighs more than 95 pounds tends to appear fat.

She's very busty. This on a short woman is hard to dress well without creating a matching tummy problem. BELIEVE ME - I know. The camera accentuates the problem. They need to buy her tops that fit well and stop creating a "line" in her mid section.
God, I've been watching too much "What Not to Wear" for my own good.

i love this show. that I Will Survive episode got annoying, just b/c the music was SO loud and continuous for the first 10 minutes. and the funny thing is, i went to our homecoming dance on thursday. and there was a song playing and i said to my friend "i know this song...what is it?" hes like "i will survive" i was like "oh....OH NO!!" lol, jut a funny incident only medium people would get i guess
i think its great that they start showing the abilities both daughters have. i really enjoyed the episode where ariel helped her catch the guy (partly b/c that was the first episode i watched). now her younger (and more annoying in my opinon) daughter can do it, too. do i see the third daughter doing the same in the future? lol, i feel bad for her husband. not only is he the only guy in the house, but soon to be the only non-medium.
who thought last weeks episode was really good?? i actually guessed part of it, too. i was so proud, since i can never guess anything!

Posted: 10/9/05 at 2:23pmI love every episode of this show. I think my favorite was the one where Alison took the middle daughter to the playground at night and "held" the boy who had died. On the weight issue--I've never thought of her as "chunky" either, but I don't think they're dressing her fabulously. However, I kind of like it because it makes her look like a real person. That's one of the things that I love about the casting and design--they look like a real family, not running around in designer clothes and a fancy house worth more than what they would actually be making in real life in those jobs.

Posted: 10/9/05 at 2:40pmI have enjoyed this show from the beginning. I thought it would be a gimmicky show that would wear off in no time, but alas, they manage to keep each episode interesting. I have missed most of this new season except for last week's episode, which I thought was very well done.

Posted: 10/9/05 at 2:49pmI watched the first episode, and have not missed one since. Well written, well acted, and verry enjoyable. And I agree. She needs to divorce the husband. Stat.

Well, I get what they're attempting with the husband (the skeptical "Voice of Reason")but, so far, they're only succeeding in making him the ass. It's a shame, because he also shows himself to be a very supportive and loving husband, just the constant skepticism outweighs the rest of it.

Nah, we like the husband.
He just wants a normal life.
The family interplay is what makes all of this interesting. The kids, the husband, the freaky dreams . . .
Thank God for Tivo, because I like this show as well.
And, Cold Case is also great.

Posted: 10/9/05 at 4:06pmOh my, I love the husband. He brings balance to the show and her life. It's gotta be so incredibly difficult to deal with that situation. Staying with the real feel of the show, I think his beink skeptical and supportive at the same time reflects what real life would be like.

I like Joe, too. He's not only "normal" and strains to understand their intuitive world, but he's also a mathematician and understands the world through quantitaive analysis. Basically, they experience life through different mediums (so to speak). He is very much out of sync with Alison and their visionary daughters and that tension and struggle is very real. I think they play off of each other very well.
I just wish he'd get a haircut.

Posted: 10/9/05 at 6:02pmBut the husband constantly puts her down - he actually disses her every chance he gets - I'd divorce his sorry, unsupportive ass in a heartbeat - it's not a healthy relationship by any means.
