Megabus , Is giving away free seats !

Hey , Megabus is giving away free seats for travel. From January 6th - March 20th, promo code GETAWAY. I just tryed it and it worked , cost me 50 cents for two seats ! From Boston to NYC, it was easy for travel during the week. Weekends they wanted $10 a seat.

I took Megabus from dc to nyc a few weeks ago, it was two seats for $2.50 when I booked online. They're great, the buses are comfortable and have wifi and we got into nyc like 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Better than BOLT bus definitely.

Revolutionary, how far in advance do you buy your tickets? I check both Megabus and Bolt and pick the one which has cheaper tickets for the times I need, and Megabus is always $20 and above weeks in advance, and Bolt has cheaper tickets available. I've never once seen the advertised $1 tickets available, even when I picked random dates months in advance.

They were doing the $1 fare promotion for most of November. It was even advertised on the sides of their buses, like '$1 FARES SEE ONLINE FOR DETAILS' or something along those lines.

Let's see, so I took the bus on November 16 and I booked it like, one- two weeks beforehand I would say. I just went on the site to make a reservation and saw the promotion, it was a promotional code that they tell you to type in during check out.

But I do remember that the $1 rate was only offered for certain departure times each day so I took the 11 am bus.

And guessing from this new free seat promotion, they're probably not doing so well so I'm sure there will be more good deals in the future. Just keep checking their website!

I have often taken both Mega and Bolt from Boston, and have often gotten the 1 dollar seat. I usually get cheaper seats from Mega and I find their times are more flexible.

Fung Wah has a REALLY flexible schedule (every hour on the hour- and often half-hour) and is much faster then Greyhound. I haven't taken mega or bolt though, so I might have to look into that.

Can I just again say THANKS for the code? I just booked THREE roundtrip fares for a total cost of $1.50. 5 of the 6 trips were free, and the sixth was a buck plus the 50 cent service charge. (A Thursday to Saturday)
