So, if the tangent discussion wasn’t acceptable, I wonder how long this will last!
I meant what I said – men are pigs. Biologically, there’s just not that much we have to do, except dominate each other and spread our sperm.
I don’t care what your ‘orientation’ is, you’re still just a male – and that’s what you’re here for. And we’re damn good at achieving that goal.
Sure, there are those who make a fine show of contributing to the overall culture. But while Michelangelo was sculpting “David”, he was also screwing the model.
Personally, I embrace this aspect of my being. It’s freeing to know that anything I contribute above and beyond what my dick provides is all a bonus.
But I still think that, left to ourselves, we’d make “Lord of the Flies” look like a kindergarten primer.
Long live the women.

DG, I mean this as loving and kindly as it can be, but when did you become such a cynical misanthrope?
It is disheartening.
The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.

Hubby straying AGAIN? Just because HE can't keep it in his pants doesn't mean all men are the same. I hope you don't catch anything you can't get rid of.
(P.S. you are killing me! )

It would seem anything you accopmplish "penilely" would also be gravy.

Not all men are like that. If they embrace the job description you provided, then yeah, they're pigs/losers.
That's one reality show they haven't done yet--leave men to their own devices in a semi-controlled environment (but without the prison overtones) with no women around and see what happens.

We also have a brain and a conscience. They work too, if we choose to use them.
But it is a choice.

Which doesn't explain why I meet more and more men who don't want or can't have sex.

Was it the tangent discussion that wasn't acceptable or the celebration of incest that wasn't acceptable?
So does this mean gay men are absolutely useless, since we're not out there propagating the species? I mean, your contempt for all things gay does tend to shine through, but I thought that was more for show.
Yesterday you said we f*ck trees and animals when we can't find a human partner.
Is it possible you're a transgendered person and your contempt for the body you were born in manifests in these weird statements about male sexuality?

Posted: 12/18/07 at 9:36amI'd like to think that a lot men born not being pigs, and the majority of the rest eventually grow out of it. Of course, that could be the optimist part of me speaking.

Well, the latest evidence I've seen of it, DG, is how you pop into threads about some sort of gay issue and accuse them of not doing anything for any other group, much like the World AIDS Day thread. I don't see you popping in the breast cancer threads and snapping at those who post in there for not devoting equal BWW attention to colon cancer or mouth cancer. That's just the first thing that popped in my head.
I don't get how saying you'd f*ck a horse is elevated. I mean, I don't know what you do with your days but if all it takes for you to feel superior is to do something besides ejaculate, then more power to you.

I want to play Camille Paglia.
As for this discussion, I don't know. I mean, I kind of get it, DG...but this goes back to the Namo/DG Atheist/Agnostic Battle of Late '07.
You want to claim you have no idea what could be in this great big universe of ours, but then you take the one truly divine thing I believe we can see with our own eyes, the act of creation - the creation of life, the creation of intimacy, the creation of art - and use the typical, late 70's sitcom faux feminist line "men are pigs" to describe it.
Honestly...sometimes you have to stop looking up and start looking down and around. It's right here. No need to search too hard.

I have to assume there's a whole subtext to the initial post, because if you're serious, DG, it's a tad disturbing.
I maintain, as alway, that the various genres (for lack of a better term) of people who populate BWW (and other universes, both larger and smaller) should ideally be sensitive and respectful to each other's differences.
As a woman, it doesn't make me feel good or special that someone is painting woman "good" and men "bad" with a *really* broad brush stroke. In fact, it feels patronizing.
Again, I realize that the initial post mostly likely doesn't tell the real story, and that those of us clueless enough to reply look like fools to those in the know.

I have been saying that 'all men are pigs' for years, but my theory has little or nothing to do with procreation.
We stand up to pee. Ergo, we can pee anywhere, and we HAVE peed in every possible site and situation.
It's disgusting, but hey, we're guys.
Is this too much information?

And at the risk of sounding like Namo, I don't understand who the "we" is here. Are you talking about straight men only, because while I've spread a lot of my seed in my day, it's never once gone anywhere where it might have anything to do with biological imperative.

Since I'm sure there's more to this than meets the eye, I'll just state the obvious:
Men and women are animals with animal instincts, but we have been graced with consciousness and the ability to suppress those instincts based on a code of ethics and compassion for our fellow humans.

DG--you know I love you but...
Sometimes you should pause before you hit Send, read over your posting and think "How would DG criticize this posting?"
Because sometimes you say things so stupid I doubt you even believe them yourselves.
How can we take you seriously when you mood-swing so violently from your usual "I don't want to know if life is no longer beauteous" to this current "Life stinks and we all live in sewers" schtick?
Take a deep breath and chalk it up to Winter Blues, which, yes, you even get in Southern California.
