'Love you' is becoming the new 'Have a nice Day' and just as meaningless.
The young learn from and imitate television and I am amazed when I witness schoolgirls go into exaggerated and seemingly false displays of hugging and 'love you' when greeting and farewells.
There is a lot more male hugging on sports fields so young males imitate that and sometimes all that hand and fist thing they do can end in a hug[did I really just type that??].
European , Asian culture is more 'hands on' with mutual massage just part of daily family interaction so touching another is normal.
The politician handshake with a pull in close and squeeze the other guys arm is just so false-see who can do it first.
I'm of the generation of shaking another man's hand and lifting your hat to a lady-shaking a lady's hand still feels awkward.
Probably the first words a child understands is 'don't touch'.
I don't feel the need to constantly say I love you to the 5 real friends that I have--what we constantly do for each other shows that.
