I can't remember if I first took notice of iflit on an out of control PETA thread or in someone's (RaggyQPoo, I think?) meltdown thread. At any rate, the first thing I noticed was her ability to come in and say exactly what she needed to say, however unpleasant, without resorting to childishness or name-calling. She quickly became one of my favorite posters on here and I am in constant admiration of her wisdom, humor and big bleeding heart. She's a true asset to this board, and someone who has my utmost respect.
Congratulations, iflit!
Love,
Kringas
Lordy. This is a lot like getting to attend your own wake withough actually being dead. I'm loving it.

Wake? Who do you think you are? Brendan Stryker?
Anything for iflit... she wants it, she gets it.
Woo-hoo!
She's simply one of the the most beautiful human beings I've ever had the blessing to meet.
Mother, Daughter, Sister, Wife and of course, FRIEND...a caring, loving, rock and rollin' gal, who supports and inspires us all, FLAUNT IT..FLAUNT IT!!!
Kudos to Craig for creating this very fun and positive new off-topic feature!
Hooray Iflit! It was wonderful meeting you over the summer at the picnic and seeing you again at events this year! Keep smiling and congrats on your celeb status!
When Bongo broke into the bathroom, as I was showering, to tell me this glorious news of who the new celebrity of the day was, I had to log on right away to wish one of my all time favorites (and 2nd person I met here - thank you Papa) a big CONGRATS !!! No one else is more deserving of this title..she is our Mother Earth on this board. I bow to my friend.
Bump
So far, I'm not learning much about the celebrities of the day. Maybe, we should play 20 questions, so those of us who haven't had the pleasure of meeting them can get to know them a little better. Nothing specific or too personal, of course.
It's just a thought. Iflit, are you game?
Is that your first question?
Yes.
I don't want to force it on her, if she's not interested.
shameless... You have your games confused. This is Queen for a Day, not 20 Questions.
Hey, if a thread dedicated to a well known and much loved poster can slide down to the bottom of the page so fast, what's going to happen when we get to people who aren't well known?
People like me, dammit. What's going to happen to me!!!
I wouldn't start shopping for that dress just yet, shameless.
And at the risk of being accused of thread-jacking... for what it's worth, congrats iflit on this prestigious (and apparently, well dissevered) honor.
ONLY a thread dedicated to my Ifliti could get me to, for one post only, come out of board retirement, enough said! She's long been my favorite.

Congratulations iflitifloat! A worthy opponent indeed. (PCB...we'll be talking later. Give back the cash)
But on-topic. What a wonderful way to honor a fabulous member of the BWW community. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the well-deserved accolades.

What would you like to know, Shameless? I'll do my best to answer.
I have honored Iflit AND got Al Dente to post. My work here is done

Is there a pasture to which they send former Celebrities of the Day...where they can play with others and roam freely?

Oh, you're really gonna play!?! Excellent. Let me think.

How cute a thread.
Robbiej, poppy, and now iflit...wow. Each one excels in their own way. Top quality as people and as posters who do this board and themselves proud.
Ok, I'll start you off with an easy one. Everyone feel free to jump in and ask questions.
What's the best concert you've ever seen?
beacon1, that place is called Urinetown.
Congrats, iflit! I look forward to getting to know you better. You sound like an absolute doll. :)
By the year 2010, these three people already honored could be in the 5 timers club!
Best concert, eh? That's a tough one because I have gone to a gazillion in my time.
I'd have to go with one of the early Pink Floyd concerts, circa 1971. But I also saw the Beatles during their first tour (with the matching blue suits...), was at a CSNY concert (in Roosevelt Stadium) the night Nixon resigned, and I was at the original Woodstock. Having gotten to see some of the people I've seen play live is a good bit of consolation for being this old.
I love that you were at Woodstock, Iflit. You are, quite possibly, the best almost-mom who could ever be.
May I please borrow the car?
