Sueleen, I want to congratulate you on being the MBCotD who's had their name misspelled the most times on the thread.
It's really not that hard to look at the thread and see how to spell it, people.
Ever think they might be deliberate?
Sorry about my stock question, but I like to ask-who are your favorite visual artists, and do you have any art on your walls?
No, pop...I must be pretty naive!
Sueleen, congratulations!! I miss your avatar (I can picture her in my head, but I don't know her name!!).
Mazel Sue.
Fantastic choice! I am really looking forward to learning more about the famous (infamous?) SueleenGay! Until then, just let me pass on my best wishes and applause. Sueleen - take a bow!
Is that Ann B. Davis in the front row?
Is that Rath in the back row?
Mamie, that's priceless!
Mamie, I love that. Thank you.
Now for some of the clothes related questions...
If you were a pair of shoes, what shoes would you be and why?
I am not really a big shoe whore. As long as they are comfy and don’t clash with the rest of the outfit I don’t much care. If they are looking at your feet you are doing something wrong. But if I had to BE a pair of shoes I would want to be a pair of big fuzzy slippers that would make whoever wore me feel warm and comfortable and safe. The kind that people dream of putting on while they are out doing the hard work and think, “Oh, if only I could put on my slippers today would be so much better.”
Were you to design a line of t-shirts, what would your logo be?
I love t-shirts almost as much as Vilanch! If I were to design a logo it would probably have some funny picture of a goofy looking person with a really silly quote. Something that would make people laugh and cringe at the same time. Something you would feel comfortable wearing to bed or to a Broadway World Get Together.
I don’t know…what a strange question…
Will you leave me one of your minks when you die?
Like hell, Bitch. I will be wearing the mink and the fox and ermines will be lining the coffin. Who says you can’t take it with you?
WELCOME SUELEENGAY!
I've always wanted to say that...
Ah, the wonders of Sueleen, witty and wacky, irreverent and impudent. Generous and caring, and the master/mistress of the tounge-in-cheek post. Enjoy your time with the MBCotD title, you deserve every second of our praise.
Here's my question; "why does it hurt so much?"
It doesn't hurt.
Sueleen, hope you are going to celebrate in style tonight!

Favorite historical period and what country?
I'm the Sueleen to your Namo - you ignore my questions.
The last time I recall hearing about Betty Hutton was really sad. Geez, this must have been 30 (?) years ago.
She was working as the secretary in a rectory (not sure where...New England comes to mind, but I could be wrong.) She did a few TV spots, and I just felt so bad for her because she obviously loved performing but was really not well. (I do believe she suffered from alcoholism or mental illness. I don't know. This is all from memory. I haven't "googled" her.)
I had never really cared for her before that. (I was a big Merman and Judy fan who was never comfortable with Miss Hutton as Annie Oakley.) But my heart just went out to her so.
Sueleen, you really captured the essence of Miss Hutton in your earlier post. In my mind, that's what YOU look like...no matter what avatar you try to cover it up with.
Now, a serious question:
What one book has had the most powerful effect on your life? (Other than I, Tina.)
congrats sueleen!
What trait, personality quirk, behavioral MO in the Gwen Wells character iin NASHVILLE spoke to you? Really got under your skin? The abject fearlessness? The blinders she wore, to push herself when the world told her not to? The masquerade mask she used at the smoker?
Sueleen - Suppose you had the opportunity to cast an enormous blockbuster musical with any performers you wanted. How would you cast it? Who are your favorites?
(I would appreciate it if you could find a part for my Greg)
Congrats Sueleen, love your posts.
What has given you the most (non-sexual & non-criminal) pleasure in the last year?
Many things come to mind. A great family reunion, some of the work I have been doing that is very challenging and rewarding with very little pay… However, three other things come to mind and all of them involve the performing arts. So I will share those.
One was seeing Wicked for the third time. No, I am not joking. A friend of mine who is having a really hard time desperately wanted to see the show. She is not a theatre person, but for some reason this show was something she wanted to see. I had already seen it twice and could have gone forever with out seeing it again. But my friend had just gotten out of the hospital and I thought it might cheer her up so we decided to try the lottery. We won and her reaction was the sweetest thing. She could not believe that we were actually going to sit front row center to see this show. She was like a little girl. Seeing the power that one performance and evening had on her brought me such joy I didn’t care that she jumped up and down, laughed a little loudly or clapped at every little thing. During For Good she reached over and squeezed my arm and it was just one of those bonding moments that brought tears to both of us.
So I will never be a Wicked basher.
The next thing that came to my mind is similar. I surprised my boyfriend with front row seats to the Roches concert at Steppenwolf. It was something that was very difficult to pull off, but was worth every bit of effort it took. He had no idea they were even coming to town and did not know what we were doing at the theatre until I had gone to will call and showed him the tickets. He had been having a terrible day and we were dealing with a lot of stuff in our lives, and again that night was just so special.
My third special moment involved sitting on a barstool for about 4 hours with a friend getting to know one another better and watching the Tonys on a tiny TV with crappy sound in the small back room of a large gay bar in Boystown. That was a very special night for me, too.
Hence the reason you are the MBCotD.

Ms. Gay? Another Chicago-related question, if you don't mind?
Do you have a favorite deep dish pizza place?
Thanks Sueleen!
I had a similar experience taking my 13 year-old niece to see Wicked for her birthday, a few weeks ago. She’s been in such a hurry to grow up for the past couple years, but on that night, she really was a little girl again. It was magic.
