I had an awesome day Pinceton! First Thank you to Penguin who gave me the honor, it was so out of the blue. Many, many thanks to everyone for all their kind words. A kind word is a wonderous gift to receive.
BWW has become a favorite place to hang out because of all of you.
Each and everyone of you has added so much here.
The time has come for me to step aside so we can sing the lauds of the newest celeb, who will reign over us for the weekend.
I like tradition, so in keeping with tradition, I am thinking outside my "inner circle" of BWW friends.

Posted: 2/17/06 at 9:29amoh my god! i totally didn't prepare a speech. i mean i hoped that someday maybe, just like all of us, but wow. i'd like to thank mominator, whose posts never fail to bring a smile to my face. i'd like to thank craig who's stunning vision gave us this wonderful institution. i'd like to honor all the mbcotd's who've come before and paved the road for a schmo like me. i'd like to thank my agent, robbiej, who told me that eventually my time would come and for the way he comforted me all those days that i spent the hour between 9 and 10 on pins and needles and the hour after in hopeless heartwrenching sobs and big huge tears. i'd like to thank all my friends and enemies, acquaintences, people i've never met, my family, god himself who blessed me with the perseverence to stick here knowing that eventually my time would cum, my darling wife, mrs. mambo, and last but not least i'd like to thank dick cheney for not shooting me.
