Help. There will be an opera at the Met that I want to see. I am completely ignorant about tickets, etc. I can certainly go online, check out seating charts, etc.
Anyone got any special recommendations about where to sit, what sections are better than others, etc.?

The Met's website is very informative and you can order tickets right through them.
Just be aware that their ticket prices are very high.

Every seat at the MET has a decent view and great (all-natural) sound. Probably the best section for view is the first mezzanine, but I believe it is also the most expensive.
bwaylvsong is right, the center parterre has the clearest view of the stage and is the most expensive. Actually it is tied with Orchestra Premium, which is just center aisle seating in the orchestra.
If you have any questions on particulars, PM me. I work in the subscription department.
What's the specific opera that you want to see?
If the opera you want to see is THAIS or SOMNAMBULA, you may be out of luck.

Thanks folks. I want to see DOCTOR ATOMIC, and there does seem to be ticket availability in my price range.
