re: Miami Social

Well now my problem is that I was watching Hell's Kitchen last night from 9-10, and usually I'm watching Big Brother (not sure what time HK is going to be on from now on this season), so I end up watching my tivo of NYC Prep at 10. So I forget about the Miami show.

Was last night really the season finale of NYC Prep?

re: Miami Social

No, they showed scenes from next week!

I think I am going to give up Miami Social - the people on this show are just so horrible (in a way the Housewives or NYC Prep kids aren't). I think Bravo missed the mark with this show....

re: Miami Social

I agree danmag. I'm really trying hard to like Miami Social, but NYC Prep is so much better!

re: Miami Social

I think it was actually very sad that Maria is sending her only child to a boarding school in Switzerland! I mean...even if you CAN afford it, why would any parent want to send their only child away when she is still practically a little girl?

I just think that's awful.
She seems like she is more of a friend/big sister than a mom anyways and the girl will probably turn out better in the discipline area being away from her mom...but I just found that part really sad.

I agree MTVMANN. That little girl is only 13 - I have a kid that age and I can't even IMAGINE sending him to boarding school. Let alone, one in Switzerland! I don't get the rationale behind that AT ALL.

This whole crew seems incredibly self absorbed. Even by reality show standards.

re: Miami Social

The boarding school thing may be normal to some people or cultures. In my family, both my parents, aunts & uncles on both sides, and even some cousins of mine all went to (or are currently in) boarding school. Most of them left at age 11 or 12. I never went myself, but from what I've been told and seen it's a very unique, interesting, and fun experience.

It may have some to do with her background too. I do not believe Maria is an American (I thinking something Russian). If so, I have always heard that most Europeans don't have as strong as a bond with their family as Americans do.

re: Miami Social

This show isn't even fun to watch. Just a bunch of adults socializing, going to parties and clubbing. Snooze.

re: Miami Social

Once again, when they showed Harvy (or Hardy or whateverhisfaceis) working a party, there were numerous freeze frames. It just ... with all the other editting options...

Anyway.

The only remotely interesting thing about Miami Social is the ongoing battle to see who can be a greater sassy bitch - balding gay guy who's under the impression he's hot (wtf, no!) or the reaaaaaaaally obvious gay guy who's under the impression he's straight (or bisexual, also wtf no!).

It's sad, too. This show had potential to be what we've come to expect out of Bravo reality programs but instead it's dead in the water. I mean, it's not even a show you can "love to hate" like NYC Prep. It's just a vapid piece of drivel.

OK, I wanted to start a thread, and couldn't see a way to under the current configuration. Are we just supposed to 'give up and go home'?
