Michael Moore is going to be on Larry King tonight. i hope he gives Larry hell like he did Wolfe Blitzer. I know see where HD gets this "meltdown" comment he is always using. Michael Moore had a "Meltdown" yesterday acording to HD. If you call someone on their BS and speak out then in HD's world its a meltdown.LOL!

No one can find anything incorrect about SiCKO. Hell, if the insurance companies with all their money and lawyers can't find one thing to use against Moore in hopes to dis-credit him then whats that tell ya? HD has recieved his orders and thats to 'attempt' to dis-credit Moore at all costs. Hd looses everytime. Of course, if HD had actually seen the movie he is so desperate to trash I can atleast say he's seen the movie and he didn't like it. Its like saying you a book is bad because YOU don't like the author.


Heres an email a friend of mine sent to Michael Moore that I think is perfect.

"Thank you for Sicko and your attack on tv media. They certainly fell down on the job ...uhm no ...they did what they did on purpose because they, like the HMO's are a for profit business. It just so happens that big pharma is their biggest client. So we have the same problem with them as we do with the HMO's. Remember Play House 90? Remember Rod Sterling? He wrote much of what was aired on the show back then and because what he wrote made big business uncomfortable they stopped advertising on the show. The show died. That was the first big lesson for network tv which was that you can't use free artistic expression because you will lose advertisement revenue. So they didn't want to go up against the start of the war because they would have lost advertisement revenue. You were right on the verge of bringing this out on on CNN today. Who knows who of the tv and radio networks' CEO's, owners and controller/managers have investments in military industrial companies? So we don't get the truth from the media because they are a for profit entity. We need free health care and free truthful public media tv and radio outlets. Be strong and please continue the fight. You are a true patriot, fighting for the people of America. Thank you."

Hd needs his diaper changed and then needs to be put down for a time out! Keep trying to HD. Someday you may need Michael Moore to come to your rescue!

It seems the greatest critiques, with the most validity, come from the most liberal of the media elite.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we can agree on two things: The American health-care system is busted and Michael Moore is not the guy to fix it. His "Sicko," an investigation and indictment of a system choking on paperwork, greed, bad policy and countervailing goals, turns out to be a fuzzy, toothless collection of anecdotes, a few stunts and a bromide-rich conclusion.

The problem: He never goes for the big picture. He has some fun (and gives some fun) with what might be called inciting incidents -- metaphorical examples, up-close-and-personals with the aggrieved, some muckraking and the like. In the end, it's as if he's afraid of losing his audiences with charts, numbers and assessments from neutral sources, unlike the similar techniques used by Al Gore in "An Inconvenient Truth." Moore never interviews actual veterans of the system: doctors, nurses, administrators -- only the victims.

Larry just had Moore on his show on June 30. He must be doing anything to TRY to get ratings.

I wonder if Moore will make fun of Gupta to his face? It seems like Rosie is giving Moore pointers on how to garner attention. Maybe Trump will get in on it too.

HD, have you seen this movie you are criticizing? You are finding all these faults with a film you have not seen. Like usual, you post WHAT OTHERS THING BUT ARE TOO STUPID TO POST WHAT YOU THINK! Moore is doing just fine and that drives you nuts. theres not a person on BBW that is going to listen to a thing you say. If anything, they'll do just the opposite. Moore does not need ratings. Moore did not insult Gupta, unless in your world disagreeing with someone is considered an insult. No slur,no mocking at all. Besides, Moore was followed after a hit piece on his movie. If you had a film and then someone unfairly tore it apart would you just back and allow it? Oh Christ, look who I'm asking!

HD, somehow through all of this you've failed to realize, that no one ever said that Michael Moore was the one to fix the health-care system here in the US. What Moore has done, and will no doubt continue to do, with every TV appearance, is make the American Public sit-up and take notice. You can disagree with Moore all you want, you can call him a "pinko" you can even accuse him of having a "melt-down" on CNN. But, all of that doesn't change the fact that the US has a failing health-care system, and something needs to be done about it. I'm sure Michael Moore will probably have little if any input into the final result, his contribution will be that he produced a movie that got the ball rolling.

So, continue with your screeds of rage against him. It's not hurting him, and every time you bump this thread to the top, perhaps one more person will read it who hasn't read it before, and they will become an advocate for health-care reform in this country. Is really a no lose proposition for Moore, just more publicity. It's just like the Fundies who picket a movie that has a positive portrayal of gays. The movie gets more publicity, and Fundies just look foolish.

What world do you speak of? When people come this country on vacation they take out medical insurance because they could never afford our premiums.


I don't love any of those countries. I just want to know why it is ok for a country like Israel who is a our biggest ally to have something we don't. We sure do send them a lot of aid every year. We sure to wanna help them from Iran.

Yes, I suppose it is if you don't count the over 40 million who are uninsured, and have little if any access to this "health-care system that is the envy of the world"

It's not that I love any of the above so much, it's just that I love America more. And because of that, I'll work for a plan that will take care of ALL Americans, (even you), not just the ones who have insurance. Because, having insurance, doesn't necessarily mean that you will receive the care that you think your insurance entitles you too.

DR. SANJAY GUPTA, CNN: "(Moore says) the United States slipped to number 37 in the world's health care systems. It's true. ... Moore brings a group of patients, including 9/11 workers, to Cuba and marvels at their free treatment and quality of care. But hold on - that WHO list puts Cuba's health care system even lower than the United States, coming in at #39."

THE TRUTH:

"But hold on?" 'SiCKO' clearly shows the WHO list, with the United States at number #37, and Cuba at #39. Right up on the screen in big five-foot letters. It's even in the trailer! CNN should have its reporter see his eye doctor. The movie isn't hiding from this fact. Just the opposite.

The fact that the healthcare system in an impoverished nation crippled by our decades-old blockade (including medical supplies and drugs) ranks so closely to ours is more an indictment of the American system than the Cuban system.

Although Cuba ranks lower overall than the United States, it still has a lower infant mortality rate and longer life span. (see below)

And unlike the United States, Cuba offers healthcare to absolutely everyone. In an independent Gallup poll conducted in Cuba, "a near unanimous 96 percent of respondents say that health care in Cuba is accessible to everyone." ("Cubans Show Little Satisfaction with Opportunities and Individual Freedom Rare Independent Survey Finds Large Majorities Are Still Proud of Island's Health Care and Education," January 10, 2007.

By the way, I have recieved two PM's telling me that they were planning on either waiting to see SiCKO on dvd or they were going download it, but that I convinced them to see it in the theatre to support Michael Moore. The film has already made a profit and it hasn't even opened outside of North America 9where they predict it will make even more money)Variety says its already winning respect and probable Oscar nods from Academy members. HD, all your efforts have failed. The only people you have convinced not to see this were people who were not going to see it anyway. I love that Fox News and Republicans have praised the film.

I do feel guilty. I am certain Michael Moore could pay you SOMETHING for all your efforts. I'll have him call Harvey a call in the morning!

They are taking notice...period. Which is exactly what he wanted and exactly what he's accomplished. No one was talking about health-care in the country six months ago...or for that matter six weeks ago. But, now he's on all the major talk and new programs and even you have become obsessed with health-care.

WHO???? Sometimes people come here for special procedures, but only the rich or the occasional conjoined twins. If we had universal coverage a lot more would come. Science could actually have a chance to prosper in a world not grounded by grant money.

Yes, and in what specific way do you see Moore's myth influencing the national debate on health care reform?

Since not one single Senator, or serious Presidential candidate will get anywhere near Moore, his Myth, or associate him or herself with the ideas that Moore is advocating, it seems that he flopped.

Other than Moore's disgusting profiteering from people who don't seem to know better, his myth is an abject failure.
