Posted: 12/3/08 at 3:30pmMost of the sketches are fabulous, although I'm not sure why Christian Lacroix has that whole Cruella DeVille in purple theme going on. I'm just excited to see a First Lady wearing something other than Oscar de la Renta (fingers crossed). I really like the Carolina Herrera ones and the Badgley Mischka gown.

Posted: 12/3/08 at 4:09pmI would have to say that most of these designs are very red carpet and lack a certain power and dignity. I like the Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel the best, although it is very jackie Kennedy-derivative looking, which Mrs. Obama may want to avoid in order to set her own mark.

It's got to be the Monique Lhuillier for the inaugural ball. I just want her to be beyond glamorous on that night!
It's going to be so excellent to have some real high fashion at the White House again. I love that everyone is clamoring to design for her!

I loved that yellow suit from Diane von Fuerstenberg I think. For the ceremony. It's like an updated Jackie O.
Michelle will be a classy first lady.
