That recording is totally damning and contradicts any apologies about being misunderstood. Unless the "she was off her meds" explanation gains any traction.

That is some uncomfortable audio. It's like a Christopher Guest movie with all the humor sloughed off.

The ending was hilarious with her, um, I'm pretty sure I am not going to get paid so could ya help a girl out?

It sounds just barely plausible that she didn't express herself properly and then got in too deep and couldn't get out, but her inability to simply clarify her position despite ample opportunity to do so is really appalling. The rage seething behind every word is ugly indeed -- she makes Jodie Foster sound well-adjusted.

Pathetic.

What's funny in a sick way is she just keeps playing that final song, lifelessly, almost as if she's making up the words and then tosses in an emphatic "listen y'all" to a verse that she thinks is pertinent to the discussion that is going on. I was a little surprised people were still paying attention and clapped at the end of it.

Self-destruction is not a pretty sight. At least it usually isn't. Here I'm not so sure. There are so many solutions to her problems, usually involving just saying "Sorry, that got way out of hand, here's what I thought I was saying and boy did I get it wrong wrong wrong." She's being given every possibly opportunity to make it a little bit righter, and she's just compulsively blowing it.

She's like Jodie Foster channeling Charlie Sheen.

She knew exactly what she was saying, and I'm not buying the loopy explanations. I see it only in two possible ways:

1, she simply wanted to out herself as a homophobe, but now is flailing to back off with that tried and true artists cry of "you don't understand me!"

2, this was a failed publicity stunt, I mean, who has a twitter assistant?! I love how in that interview she seems to hate twitter and social media, but has an employee dedicated to it?

I'm proud of the folks who called her out, but am pretty creeped by those who supported the rant, or at least her right to show off her hate speak.

I misunderstood then too, but did she hand over her phone to a stranger to sit backstage and montitor her twitter account?

I do realize that some folks do have employees who do their twatting and facebooking, but Michelle Shocked?! If it is a staff member of hers, does she really have that kind of scratch?
