She is a totally made up character. EVERYTHING about her is an affectation.

I know her (as a real person) and did a show with her. She?s madly talented and just started these Miranda videos as a joke for her friends and family. Well, she went viral. People thought she was real and were posting the most hateful things about her singing. She actually has a beautiful voice.

This 'little joke' of hers just caught on.

I can't help but laugh at them, because she's SO into character and her singing is SOOO off.
