This is difficult to stomach, but this is what we are up against. Have a bucket handy.

Posted: 10/16/08 at 12:17amOMG- I don't even know where to respond to this! That guy actually used the N word. Where do they even get that Obama is a Muslim? How can he be against whites when his mother was white! These were purely ignorant people! They don't seem like the people that McCain described tonight in the debate of the people who go to their rallies. Geez!

Posted: 10/16/08 at 12:34amThese people call themselves Christians- yet they don't even know what that means! I don't think race is mentioned in the bible! I may be Jewish but I also know that I am way more Christian than these people will EVER be!

This clip is just propaganda.
.AljazeeraEnglish??? What exactly is this source??
Is this a Joke?
Real?
Certainly not any kind of journalism.
Beware anything on YouTube.
These "citizens" are just uneducated, therefore, ignorant.
So what else is new?

Aljazeera English is the sister station to the Arab language channel. It was started about two years ago. Their website is http://english.aljazeera.net/ and their wiki entry is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jazeera_English
As you can perhaps tell by the accents that Ohio town is near the state border - about 10 miles from Wheeling, WV in this case, essentially in the Appalachian foothills.

"These "citizens" are just uneducated, therefore, ignorant."
And yet, they can vote.
And will.

Posted: 10/16/08 at 6:58amI can not tell for sure but I believe one man referred to Obama as the N word. How can anyone in 2008 expect to be taken serious with such hatred? How can you preach abortion and then speak such filth, all in the same sentence? So, now Obama is not only friends with terrorist one guy said he was related to terrorist. Ignorant morons is what they are. Even their candidate McCain has debunked what they are saying which goes to show, they believe what they want to believe.

Posted: 10/16/08 at 7:07amWell, it was McCain and his campaign that put some of those thoughts into those idiots' heads in the first place!
#14re: Misconceptions of Obama fuel Republican campaign
Posted: 10/16/08 at 8:03amI'd like to think these ignorant fools are in the minority (in terms of their thinking).

I agree with Dottie.
Plus that video was made by Al Jazeera. We could go to Egypt or Saudi Arabia and make an equally ignorant and scary one to make a similar point.

Maybe, PJ.
But you yourself could go to any state in the union and make a similar video.

You know, I'm sure those people are a tiny, tiny minority.
However.
Stop and try to imagine for one moment a group of people calling themselves Democrats and saying stuff like that. You can't.
As long as the Republican party takes as it's operating stance that there is a "them" in America, that some citizens are less than some other citizens, then the Republican party is responsible for fools like these.

Posted: 10/17/08 at 11:43amOne of the great outcomes of this election is the focus on hatred, racism and bigotry this forces people to face. For too long it has been ignored and even dismissed as not a problem in this country. Clearly it is a huge problem.

Posted: 10/17/08 at 11:49amThe ignorance and racism that exists with these people are quite disturbing. I'd like to think (and hope) that their opinions are in the minority.

Dottie, I'm sure you're right and that they are.
But I think it's incumbent upon the Republicans to establish that this way of thinking is unacceptable. If we all know this behavior occurs, so do they. If we know the kind of stuff that's shouted at Palin rallies, then so does Palin.
