lol, I believe everyone about their $hitty pizza! I was just pointing out that pizza doesn't have to be so unhealthy as a general rule. Most people think of pizza as junk food, and something to delete from their diet but I don't!

Sometimes the options that seem pretty healthy are some of the highest in calories - chicken and pasta dishes in whatever sauce for instance. A better option might be to order a small grilled sirloin, house salad with no dressing, and a cup or bowl of soup. That's my basic go-to "diet" meal at just about any sit down and be served place. Even then sometimes the steak will come home with me, and I'll eat it later.
I try and get copies of a restaurant's menu with nutrition/calorie info.
How I know a fresco taco at Taco Bell (which now and then I get a craving for) has only 150 calories. But then, on average, so does the steak taco from the nearby taco food truck (senior moment! can't think what they're called).
Edit: Jane, I agree - pizza can be quite healthy. And yummy!

In honor of this thread we had a healthy pizza (and salad) for dinner tonight! Fresh tomatoes and peppers, onions, mushrooms, artichokes with a dusting of fresh mozzarella.
Proud of you, Joe!
It takes a long time to get fat--you don't go to bed skinny and wake up the next morning 'fat'.What I don't understand is-if your pants feel a bit tight-why on earth would you go out and buy a bigger size?

Trust me sweet Lips, you don't want me going pants-less, especially if it's because none of my current pants will button any more.
"What I don't understand is-if your pants feel a bit tight-why on earth would you go out and buy a bigger size?I"
Really? Let me try to explain it to you.
In other words, I could wonder why some people keep gambling after they see they're starting to lose money.
I could wonder why some people keep drinking when they see they're a little tipsy.
I could wonder why people keep buying things when they see they're in debt.
I could wonder why people keep doing drugs when they see they're stealing money to get them.
Really? Jane,in your words--let me try to explain it to you--Think it all boils down to self control--some have it--others don't--it's called a 'choice'.
whatever you say toots. I can tell that discussing this with you would be like talking to a block of ice. I won't do it.
What I loved about this was that the folks in Mississippi say they did this because they don't need the government telling them what to do.
So, what do they do?
They get their government to pass a law.
BTW- Sweetlips is obviously a troll.
Diva, a troll, or at least someone with very little understanding, as he plainly admits.
"What I don't understand is-if your pants feel a bit tight-why on earth would you go out and buy a bigger size?"
It's the same person as Abby or Sue.
Same wording, same way of talking down to people.
They aren't very original.
I sincerely apologise to anyone I might have offended with my personal opinion.
BWW has been a great addition to my isolated condition these past few years and my limited way to still be in contact with the world of theatre.I have learnt, laughed & cried over many things I have read here,so I recently took the courage to become a member so I could contribute or respond.
I wholly support freedom of difference and I can't wait to read peoples' thoughts from around the world each day.
Then try not to offend people by forcing your opinions on them
"Really? Jane,in your words--let me try to explain it to you--"
I think she knows what she posted and doesn't need it explained to her.
My high school "pizza" was French bread and spaghetti sauce on top. We loved it.
Diva, I hope sweet lips learned that some remarks that he made can be extremely offensive to millions of people. How fortunate for him that he has such complete power over his will. Because of that, he cannot understand those of us who do not. My father was the same way. He was able to stop any bad habit he wanted with the snap of a finger. (why wasn't that trait passed on to me?)
I've discussed this topic so many times with a couple of my relatives who are psychologists and it is their belief that when one simply cannot make the right "choice" no matter how imperative it is to do so, it becomes a mental illness. The illness is the inability to make the right choices.
And SweetLips sounds like a child who doesn't realize that peoples bodies change over time, no matter what you do.
