Mixed feelings on the new rent

hey all, i was checking out amazon the other day and apparently theres a new movie that just came out. I personally have a mixed feelings on remakes, since it includes none of the original cast and has entirely new recordings. I was wondering which one is better, the new movies recordings or the classic original one. Most of my friends say that the classic always wins. What would you say.

Ooook. The movie does include 6 members of the original cast. The two new comers I find very good on the sound track. I personally like the OBCR better. But people have such mixed opinions.

I'm kind of torn between the two. I honestly like Tracie better, and overall probably Rosario better too. I really liked the woman who was in RENT during the Broadway at Bryant Park... she was great. I completely forget her name, but I'll have to find that out. I honestly don't like either Daphne or Rosario's voice that much... Overall, I like the soundtrack because it has an extra song, but I love them both.

I love Dawson's voice Daphne, not so much. Tracie's great on the soundtrack she's good ,but I hear her acting's amazing. I can't wait to see it. but there are no theaters open at 12:00 on Tuesday Night/Wedsday Morning so I have to wait until wedsday to actually see it

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

Believe me when I tell you that you should NOT have mixed feelings! I just got back from an advanced screening of RENT and I am STILL speechless. It's the best movie I've ever seen in my life and I'm not just saying that because it's RENT or Idina Menzel is in the movie but because it was AMAZING.

Seriously, I took a friend who HATES musicals with a fire burning passion and she cried the whole time and wants me to burn the CD for her.

Rosario and Tracie are golden in this movie, too - so forget your reservations about them as well.

Without ME it's just aweso.

Anyway, to answer your question: I prefer the new recording. The music is more powerful and I prefer Rosario and Tracey MUCH more than the original Mimi and Joanne. Plus Love Heals is fantastic.

Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

Perhaps I am biased, perhaps I am one of the old fans, but the original cast is still my favorite one. I still like Daphne and don't waste a moment to hear her perform live. She still rocks! Next on November 28.

I personally thought it was amazing, i dont see why everyones being so passamistic about it. I adored it
