I don't know whether to laugh or... or... Well, I just don't know.

"When Anette Pharris's son Landon turned sweet 16 she settled on giving him a present he would never forget.

But rather than wrap up a new computer or mountain bike, the 34-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, hired a stripper to perform explicit dances for her offspring."

Funnily enough, my family seriously considered sending my middle brother a stripper to his dorm for his 21st birthday.

It's a shame jails are so overcrowded and probation was all they got.

My mother wanted to hire me a hooker when she found out I was gay.

The woman is just not right.

I think that idea has occurred to more mothers of gay boys than we care to imagine.

Actually, I don't think that would have been illegal here in Nebraska. Age of consent is 16, and since it was his mom who got the stripper... but I could be wrong.

Freakishly enough-- this isn't the only time.

There was a story a year or so ago where a mom hired a male stripper to perform at her 16-year-old's daughter's BIRTHDAY PARTY. It was in a restaurant, as I recall and the manager called the police. The Mom was cleared, but I think the stripper was charged with something-- contributing to the delinquency or some such.

thespian, I think the article mentioned the brother of the birthday boy, who is 14, was present as well. And there were kids who were not related to the family in the party as well.

I loved that last line of the article. After huffing that no one has any business telling her of what she can or can't do for her son, she went, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Eh??

amasis, I am not jealous! I think strippers are actually kind of funny.... not sure why.

I think the mother meant that other people do 'bad' things too and shouldn't judge her, but I must say that she was far more idiotic than most. The whole thing is really pretty odd- most mothers want to keep their kids AWAY from that kind of thing.

WHy would (in either case) the strippers be charged with anything?? it's not there fault..they are just trying to make some money! hahah...it's their job and if their paid to grind on someone, and they so happen to be 16, then...so be it! ahahaa

and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...
