re: Monkeys control a robot arm with their thoughts

Saw video on this on the New York Times website. SOme amazing stuff. It is funny though how they framed the shot so the arm's column blocks the view of the hole in the monkey's skull with the wires coming out.

^^^^^^^^

I thought the same thing.

"Great. They've split the monkeys head open and strapped the poor thing into this machine. OF COURSE it's going to figure out some way to survive"

re: Monkeys control a robot arm with their thoughts

Well, thank God all that animal testing that has been done on monkeys has brought about something useful and productive.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
