Plum, I agree with gym class. I faked my period 25 times during gymnastics just so I wouldnt have to do it balance beam, rings, etc. I did enjoy basketball. Probably because I am tall. I also loved music and played clarinet and sang in the chorus.
Well, let's just say this year every subject sucks, except Physics which I am doing great in.
I am doing the worst, though, in UCONN Modern Western Civilizations, a history class. The tests are hard! The highest grade I got was an 83, and then the second was a 74. My first test was a 51 (yikes), and then 64, 60, lousy grades. I got a C in the class the first marking period. My first C ever on a report card, with the exception of mid-terms. It's a college class (even though I'm still in high school), so it really is a wake up call for college.
I usually like Spanish (and may even major in it), but right now it is BLAH. We are doing a stupid puppet show based on Don Quixote that is going to be 30 minutes long aired on the TV at our school, like anyone will give two craps about it...No one wants to do it. Luckily, I was able to pick up on some points in the story, thanks to MOLM recently being on Broadway (didn't see it, but have the cast recording and read the synopsis).
English, the first MP I got an 89. Since it is a Level 0 class, it is like getting a 99 in a Level 1 class. That's good. So that's how people get higher than 4.0 GPA, because those classes are weighted more.
AP Calculus, ugh. One of the subjects where the teacher expects you to work a gazillion hours a night on homework and rarely does a formal lesson. I'm trying a little harder this marking period, ended up with an 85 last M.P.
Okay, sorry for writing such a long post.

I'm totally in love with Literature. I totally loathe PE.

AP American History- how I loved it when I managed to get a 4 on the exam and shocked my teacher, and whenever I was the only one who was convinced that we had no reason to be in Iraq.
Just because I had a D for the majority of the year does not mean I'm stupid.
M_E - The sad thing is I really thought Jack Black (or Mike White, the screenwriter) in School of Rock really came up with that quote.

Sex Education was a favorite of mine. But they really screw you in the finals.
Jack Black THAT witty?
Pleeeeeeeeeeeease!!!

You can't be serious. Computers, pointless?
In high school I graduated with a 98 average in AP English but busted my ass for a C in everything else. I just couldn't figure out how Biology would get me to Broadway, so I would sit in the class reading Musical Libretti. Finally my paretns gave up and sent me to a performing arts high school for my senior year. Best thing that ever happened to me. My first class was chorus and throughout the day I took; Drama, Voice, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theory, Auditiong Techniques and Theatre History (in addition to Algebra II, AP English, and Creative Writing). God, what a school!

Fave: musical theatre (pppf obviously).
Least fave: math (go figure).
Most favorite - Art
Least favorite - the rest..well, almost...I liked a class called "Imaginative Literature" but otherwise, being a right-brain thinker, I just couldn't understand math, history or social studies. I did well in Science when I was a child - but in highschool I had a teacher who hated me and failed me no matter how hard I tried.
Plum: The computer itself is a wonderful invention. I love it to death. But I ALREADY know how to work the bloody thing. And so I'm stuck in class staring at it allowed to do NOTHING because of my nazi-like teacher. I'm talking no BWW or even card games. So I knit. Pointless and waste of time.

Redhot- I'm pretty sure the right side of the brain is the creative side and the left side is the logical/lingual side.
imcuteloveme- Ah, gotcha. My middle school computers class was like that. I was so bored I ended up finishing my work in about 10 minutes and rolling around helping everyone else for the rest of class. In high school, on the other hand, the first thing we learned was HTML, and we moved on to things like Flash, 3D Studio Max, and Photoshop and Illustrator from there. Lots of fun.

Plum, they teach HTML as a formal class in High School?
And here am I trying to learn it from the Help Screens on FrontPage?
Oh, if I were only a few years younger... well, maybe more than JUST A FEW...
