I just watched this film tonight and THIS is what Annette Benning deserves her Oscar for. THIS. Not, The Kids Are All Right. She gave such a beautiful and layered performance it's a real shame she won't get recognized for it. And re same can be said for Kerry Washington who was better than I've ever seen her. I highly highly highly recommend this film to anyone looking for something really wonderful to watch.

I saw it two days ago, as well. (No one seemed interested in MY thread...lol) I thought Annette was brilliant. I was afraid when it began that we would get her go-to weird character, but she gave her SO many layers. Every character was very flawed, but had enough redeeming qualities to earn a place in your heart. The timeline of the two pregnancies threw me off, but I guess it wasn't supposed to be happening within the same time frame. I was not expecting the outcome at all and that's rare in movies. Cherry Jones also gave a great performance in a very small role.
