Posted: 7/28/05 at 1:51pmI would love to see Ken Russell's exploitation masterpiece THE DEVILS come out on DVD......also, they keep threatening to release the early eighties Sarah Jessica Parker sitcom SQUARE PEGS...so where the hell is it, already???????????

Let's start at the beginnning, shall we? There are too many to name:
Let's get all of the disinigrating silent movies onto DVD first (there's more to silent movies than Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd), followed by the fabulous pre-codes of the early 1930's (just about everything from 1929-1934 needs to be preserved..NOW)...then, all those fantastic, over the top Busby Berkely choreographed 1930's musicals. You know...the ones that influenced Stroman, Tune, Bennett, et al? 42nd Street is not enough...there are hundreds of others, still hanging around the LA museum, waiting to be restored.
After that, all fair, I say. Go ahead with your Square Pegs, Skidoo and Last days of Disco.

The Wrong Box
1966
Directed by Bryan Forbes
Screenplay by Burt Shevelove
Starring Ralph Richardson, John Mills, Michael Caine, Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Nanette Newman (Mrs. Forbes) and in a cameo, Peter Sellers.
Hands down one of the truly funniest films ever made. On a par with Some Like It Hot.
If anyone has seen it: "Alone with her at last! In a room full of eggs!"

I want a Star Wars Mega DVD pack with the original films 1-6, the special edition films 1-6, the complete Clone Wars animated series, Star Wars holiday special, the Ewok movies, Droids and Ewoks animated series. I think that all of them.

Well, if you really want Silent Movie, To Be Or Not To Be and High Anxiety, here in Australia these DVDs are sold together as a Mel Brooks Collection. It's currently discounted. You can check this site for more information: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/222811
It is region 4, though, and PAL. But if your DVD player is multi-region and your TV can play PAL, then I would recommend this great DVD set.
My choice for movie I'd like to see on DVD is 'Foul Play' with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase. I remember loving that movie as a kid. Oh, and 'Yentl' too!
