It's a Wonderful Life
Show Boat
When Harry Met Sally
EDIT: The best is The Poseidon Adventure, by far. We used the "count down" from it one year for a video played at a party.

Best12 and Sueleen are right. No New Year's Eve is complete without a portly Shelley Winters in The Poseidon Adventure.

Isn't there a big New Year's Eve party in Holiday, with Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant?

Yes PJ- but the party is offstage. I like the one in Peter's Friends.

Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh, Hugh Laurie, Rita Rudner, Imelda Staunton, Phylidia Law... that's my kind of New Years Eve.

In Bender's Big Score, they flash back to New Year's Eve 2000 at the time when Fry is frozen.
Not that many people cared for it, but the ending in Ghostbusters II was either around or during New Year's Eve.

It's only a short dream sequence - and never 'officially' designated as a New Year's Eve scenario (although, it's implied) - but my vote is for Goldie Hawn in OVERBOARD, blowing falling confetti out of her over-sized fake eyelashes and mouth.

I came in here to post "When Harry Met Sally," but Bestie beat me to it.

I agree with When Harry Met Sally and Fabulous Baker Boys. Michelle in that slinky red dress...meow.

I agree that Peter's Friends is exellent...but my all time favorite has to be Four Rooms.

Someone Like You with Hugh Jackman and Ashley Judd. Scene was heartbreaking and Hugh looked yummy, big shocker.
