Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon?

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

NBC wouldn't be in trouble today if they still made shows like this.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, MrMidwest! This is just what the doctor ordered today. I just finished watching the first 2 parts. (Gotta go move some laundry from the washer to the dryer, then back to Movin' with Nancy!)

This would've been on tv when I was 10. I don't have memories of seeing it when I was a kid, but whether I saw it back then or not, I'm happy to be watching it now. They just don't make TV like this anymore. (Ditto what Playbilly said.)

PS That was wonderful! Thanks again, MM!

PS2 Got it playing again, this time on tv screen via Roku player (older model and channel added back when it could be; if I ever have to hard reset the Roku, bye bye YT channel). Okay, SO, I have finally realized how stupid I have been for all these years concerning lyrics for "Jackson". I had thought, since forever, that the words were "We got married in a theater," and I had wondered a) why were they married in a theater, and b) why was it so damned hot in there? Now I finally get that it's saying fever. OMG that makes so much more sense!! lol Talk about misunderstood lyrics!
