We've lost another one.
He passed away at 10:30 this morning in the hospital, he's been ill for some time.
Did they thoroughly examine him?
I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. RIP!

Yes- He's not only merely dead he's really most sincerely dead.
Aww, God bless!
For some reason, he was always my favorite as a kid. I think it was the hat.

^ That was why I liked him, too. I still would love a hat like that.
I loved his book! I can't find his obit anywhere.

^ It just happened. I belong to an Oz group on yahoo that he was a member of, his wife informed us.
I thought his wife was dead.
Husk_Charmer, besides Jerry Marin, who else is left?

givesmevoice-
Ya know, now that you say it, you may be right. It merely said a family member, so I assumed his wife was who did it.
romantico-
Margaret Pelligrini is for sure still alive. I think it's only 2 or 3 more beyond her and Maren.
Kinda OT, but I just saw this crazy movie that my friend got on dvd called Under The Rainbow.
It's about the actors who played the Mucnhkins and how wild they were during the filming of Oz (all fiction of course).
Here, sitting in front of Lorna Luft resplendent in an emerald green gown, is Meinhardt, at the recent event at Tavern on the Green, along with Jerry Marin and Margaret Pelligrini, doing an interview for CBS News.
I know it was electronically enhanced, but his voice scared me to death as a child! As an adult, though, I couldn't wait for his solo. RIP

Taz-
I <3 Under the Rainbow. Ridiculous good fun.
Jane, I don't believe that was his voice. I read that none of the Munchkins did their own singing.
He was so proud of the Wizard of Oz. He lived in my neck of the woods and made several appearances around here. He had a long and great life. RIP
Husk_Charmer, you were way too fast for the mainstream media! They FINALLY caught up.
