Music Man Audition!?!?!

My school is doing The Music Man for the spring musical. I want to audition for the role of Zaneeta Shin, the mayors daughter. I'm not sure what monologue or song to use. I was think of a monologue from Quilters. As far as songs, should I use a ballad or up tempo.

Any help would be great!!!

Zaneeta is young and full of energy, so your material should be reflective of that.
Definitely choose an uptempo song though.
