Musicals for High school

I"m sorry for the annoying question, but any help will be appreciated.
My director for our high school shows asked for some suggestions for next years musical. But, I'm stuck and can't think of any good ones that would be appropriate for high school. Our seniors this year carry most of our talent. Which really sucks. There are tons of girls who try out. Not many good ones, but there are a few. The boys are the real problem. There are only like 5 guys who have a little talent (being nice), and the rest suck. We just did Grease, so I thought it was about time to do a good musical. But one that also draws a crowd. Our theater is also amazing, it holds 1200 people and the stage is really big, with a orchestra pit. It is really a shame it is put to waste with another crappy high school production. I know this might seem impossible, but show suggestion would really help. Thanks

Nunsense perhaps.

Nunsense really only requires ONE male role( and that is optional) and the rest of the cast had better be VERY strong on their parts. This one shuts the guys out altogether so I'm not sure you want to go in that direction ( my D's school- ALL girls- did it last year, and with the wrong casting, this show can go bad quickly- needs two that can do excellent accents and have terrific comedic timing, someone who can dance-preferably on pointe- and a ventriloquist-or at least someone willing to look pretty foolish trying!).

les miz and aida require many male roles.

My personal favorite is Pippin.
You need a strong Lead Player (male or female)
and a strong male for Pippin
you can mix and match several parts according to gender.

re: Musicals for High school

I saw a really crappy high school do sweet charity and they actually made it look really good. (I had see their past years shows and they just didn't have a really talented cast) You would need to make sure that you have a girl who is good enough to carry the show though! Good luck!
