This season it's Sweet and Hot (revue of Harold Arlen songs) and Grease in the Spring. I have been precast as Sandy for that :)

In the fall there are productions of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Urinetown, and Ragtime. I found out today that auditions for all of the shows are on Rosh Hashanah, when I am at home There are also auditions on the secod day of Rosh Hashanah, and so I'm hoping my parents dont mind if I leave a day early and go to services on campus!

My College (Florida School of the Arts) is doing LUCKY STIFF! :)
i*heart*fame- I can't believe your school scheduled auditions on a Jewish holiday! If it means anything, I am a supportive mom who would want you to do what you love and audition- especially since it's the second day of Rosh. I also don't think that just because you are not physically in a synagogue, it doesn't mean that you can't pray during the holiday. Are there not many Jewish students at your school?

OCU is doing Little Women in the fall and Urinetown and A Little Night Music in the spring

SupportiveMom--Well, roughly 30% of the students are Jewish! The auditions are on the first and second day, but my parents dont seem to understand why they would schedule them on those days when the only organization bigger than the performing arts council(the group that unites all of the theater and music groups) is the Hillel!

I printed out the synopsis of Spitfire grill, it seemed cool. Have any of you seen it? Is it good??
My school (University of Arizona) is doing Candide in the fall and Urinetown in the spring.

None this year.
We only do a full scale musical once every 3 years, and we did Secret Garden last year.
Our plays though are Measure for Measure (fall), A Streetcar Named Desire (winter), and Escape from Happiness (spring).
We do have SMuT (Student Musical Theatre) though... last spring we did Company, but I don't know what this year's SMuT musical will be. I should find out sometime soon though!
The last time my school did a musical was 2006 with Pirates of Penzance. It's rare for a musical during the academic year but we do two during the summer. There's a rumor floating around about West Side Story being one of them but I don't think we have the dancing man power for it.
I have no idea what we're doing. I haven't actually started yet.

It funny how almost every college is doing Urinetown, and if they are not doing it this year, they did it last year.
This fall my university is performing "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change." I love this show, and I really wish I could have auditioned. But I don't have the time or the confidence to do any shows just yet. But I can't wait to see it.

My college only does a musical every other year. This year they are doing Urinetown. Which is local premier for the area.
I really wish I knew what my college (Oberlin) is doing, but it's not anywhere on the website . . .
