I hate pictures of dead animals. I feel like it's just as unkind as photos of dead humans.
I could believe that is a turtle, but I don't know what a turtle looks like underneath its shell. Are they that fat? Whatever it is, it's a poor dead little thing because it looks like its skin is sunburnt from being in the sun.

It's kinda beaky around the mouth. I'm learning towards tortoise/turtle/one of them.

Posted: 8/2/08 at 10:40amA turtle's body is actually attached to it's shell it is not and animal that can climb our of it if it wished (like so many cartoons suggest). I agree with raccoon.

Someone somewhere suggested it's a water rat. Whatever it is, the size is deceptive. I think it's a lot smaller than the turtle/pig/dog suggestions seem to indicate.
I also agree with those who think it's not organic at all but a hoax of some sort made out of latex and other such materials.

I wasn't thinking so much a turtle that had clambered out of its shell as a turtle that had been removed from its shell by some other outside agent (a child or a stupid-but-strong animal).
Anyhoo. ^_^

The thing is there wouldn't be a skin where the back and belly meet the shell of a turtle. The shell is attached, it is the skin. This animal has an epidermis.
A water rat sounds a likely candidate or an unfortunate pug who got drowned perhaps.
