#1"My Car Got Wrecked" CD Sale! (THE RETURN) :-)
Posted: 1/7/08 at 2:41pm

I really struggled over whether or not to post this, as I know people hate soliciting around here (and I don't blame them), so if anyone finds this post offensive, I truly apologize. But I do have some friends and supporters around here who might want to help out, so here goes:

As some of you know, my husband got in a freak accident with our car the other day...he was on the freeway and got hit by a large chunk of concrete that got kicked up by a big-rig. He's fine, thank goodness, but the car is pretty messed up. The passenger door won't even open. And we can't afford to fix it.

Now, here's where you wonderful music-lovers come in. I'm having a special on my jazz CD (Come Rain Or Come Shine) to try and make some extra cash! :-P

What's the special deal? Glad you asked! I will include a FREE copy of my band Velvet Chain's very popular CD, The Buffy EP (regularly $9.95) with every Come Rain Or Come Shine you order. No extra shipping cost, either!

There are a couple of ways to take advantage of this special offer: you can simply order the CD through my website and follow up with an e-mail with the words "Special Offer" in the subject line, or you can just send me a PM here with your name and e-mail address, and I'll invoice you through PayPal.

Again, just go to erikaamato.com to order online, or PM me, and I'll send you an invoice!

Thanks so much! Please spread the word to anyone you think might be interested, and again, I'm sorry if this annoys anyone.

xoxo

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who ordered so far, and thank you very much for all the positive feedback, too!

NEW EDIT: So, the sale was a big hit last time around, so I've decided to do it again, just for the next week. (I.e., right up until I leave for NY on March 1st.) If any of you wanted to take advantage of the special deal last time and missed out, here's your chance! Thanks again!

I don't know what is up with those URL's! I'm going to delete them. E-mail me if you want to hear clips. re: I apologize in advance, but I need to spread the word...

Thank you, Shbrt! If that thing had come through the windshield... So, yes, we're both very grateful it's just the car. re: I apologize in advance, but I need to spread the word...

Were you going to say '2 seconds later'?

Glad he's okay.

How's the concrete? (Sorry, I had to!)

TheatreDiva: Heh. No, I was just going to say, "he'd probably be dead," but I thought it was a bit morbid.

Pippin: Me, too. It was a very bizarre accident.

Elphaba: "Come Rain Or Come Shine" is the same CD you already have, yes. I don't believe you have "The Buffy EP," though.

Wouldn't insurance pay for this?

I am glad he is fine, though.

PEACE.

Sueleen: A) We're not sure about the insurance, as we've had quite a bit of bad luck, and this would be our THIRD claim in less than a year, and B) when I say we can't afford to fix it, I mean we can't even afford to pay a $500 deductible right now.

Plus, my show just ended, and my unemployment hasn't been approved yet, and my husband's work is 100% commission based, and it's been SLOW.

So, there you go. More info than anyone needed or wanted, I'm sure. Happy New Year.

Thanks very much, blueroses. The fact that he's OK is of course the most important thing. It just sucks, financially-speaking. :-P

I just bought mine! And I'm glad to help AND be entertained, all at the same time. This must be the cyberspace version of "singing for your supper."

And I can't think of anyone I'd rather listen to right now.

Onward and upward, Erika! Things will get better before you know it.

Ditto to Elphaba...

I bought a couple for friends who saw Snow White out here - they will get a kick out of actually being able to say that they saw the singer live!

And, it is a gorgeous CD, so they will also enjoy the music.

EDIT - DUH: It was Sleeping Beauty - not Snow White. I guess watching Enchanted has got all of my Disney references a bit confused! Updated On: 1/8/08 at 10:49 AM

So, here's the update:

It likes like Sueleen was correct, and because it was a "flying object" the damage to our car should be covered under our comprehensive coverage, and we'll just need to come up with our deductible! Which - thanks to those of you who have decided to take advantage of this two-for-one deal on my CD's - we're about halfway to doing.

We still need to get approved by the adjuster, who will check the car to make sure the damage is consistent with a brick-sized chunk of concrete flying through the air, but things are looking pretty good - relatively speaking. :-P

THANKS AGAIN! re: I apologize in advance, but I need to spread the word...
