"My Girl" (1991)

God Bless ABC Family for its complete random movie selection.

This movie popped on the other day and I was glued. I loved it when I was younger and haven't watched it in probably close to ten years.

You pick up on so many things when you watch an old favorite after a few years.

It's just the sweetest little story. Anna Chlumsky was a very big name for a few years when this came out and it lasted through its subsequent sequel, which I also enjoyed (gotta love some Christine Ebersole).

I loved Jamie Lee Curtis and her RV. After I saw this movie, I think I wanted to live in an RV for about a year.

And Ann Nelson as Gramoo, one minute being comatose, and the next breaking into "I've Got Rhythm" at the dinner table.

Such a classic.

i was a bigger fan of the second one, but both were great teen movies!

I did enjoy the second one a lot.

After the first, I wanted to know more about the mother. So, having Vada go on this pilgrimage to find out all she could about her was a great follow-up to the story.

I hated these movies when I was younger. I threw a fit when McCully Culkin's character died and I hated when she got stuck in the embalming room or whatever. It scared me so much. But that song she sang... I used to know it by heart.

This was one film that was perfect by itself. There was honestly no reason for a sequel. Well, I guess one reason... $$$.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
