God I love my iPod. I can listen to NINE, HAIRSPRAY, WICKED, AVE Q, CAMELOT, CANDIDE and more when jogging, walking or just riding the train.

I bought an iPod last week.
I LOVE IT.
(btw, I got an incredible deal. Otherwise, there is no way I would spend that much money at one time.)
It's the most fantabulous thing in the world.

I refer to it as "the AieaPod".
I know, I'm a geek.

I desperately, desperately want one. I'm a huge electronics-gadgets-freak, and I can't believe I don't have one yet. Grrrr....damn tuition, damn student debt!

I'm gonna buy one when I buy a new computer, a Mac PowerBook. that way, they're like two halves of the same thing. I'll wait for the next generation of iPods, they seem to be getting slimmer and slimmer.

Did anyone get theirs engraved? The Apple website is selling iPods with free custom engravings.

How is it wearing out? Is the battery life much shorter now, or the thing is all scratched up, or the sound quality is screwed?

The sound quality is still impeccable. Just the battery life keeps getting shorter.

BlueWizard: If you're a student, you might qualify for the educational discount (making a 20g iPod $279). If you buy a PowerBook and an iPod at the same time (through the Apple website), you get a rebate for $200. So, in essence, you could get the iPod for $79. (Not positive how it works in Canada, but it's worth a shot... look into it).

Wowsers, thank you FloweryFriend! (And thank you for remembering I'm Canadian! You're so sweet.)

I'm definitely going to consider it. I really, really want the 40gig one, though (I have a lot of CDs to put on there). I might wait for them to get a bit slimmer, though, and maybe come in different colours; I like the white, but I think a silver/steel one would be amazing.

Well, it's not silver/steel, but these cases are a good solution to the color issue.

(click on the "Buy Online" button to view all the colors... some of them glow in the dark, which I personally think is a bit creepy, but I guess other people might find it cool.)

My son is headed off to college as a freshman soon and the program he is in required us to buy an Apple G4 Powerbook and recommended an iPod for media files. I bought the computer for him from Apple and while I was talking to the guy (and he was talking me into buying upgrades...) I mentioned the iPod and he told me about the rebate deal that Flowery was talking about above. $200 back, so the iPod (40Mg) only cost $80. My son was ecstatic and started murmering, "10,000 songs....10,000 songs....". The engraving was part of the deal.

I just looked on the Canadian Apple page and couldn't find such a deal. Students get a small discount ($200 off the amazing G4 laptop, $50 off the iPod), but I couldn't find a deal where I get a rebate if I bought them both.

I have the IPOD mini (pink!) and I seriously hope that the other people on the subway can't hear what I'm playing a lot of the time. They'd probably be so confused to see I only have like one or two non-musical songs on there. Oh screw em, I'm tap dancing in the train and having myself a damn good time!
