Hi, guys! The movie screening/premiere is tomorrow, so I thought I'd bump this sucker up.
Please send us some good thoughts that it goes well!
*************************************
So, I'm in a new indie feature film, and it's premiering in Hollywood on 10/22 at 4pm at the Arclight Cinemas as an official selection of the Hollywood Film Festival. And anybody in the Southern CA area is definitely invited to the screening! =) (Tickets are available online, if you're interested, or at the theater. Check the bottom of this post.) We're going to have a little party afterwards at the Cat 'n Fiddle, and it would be great to meet some of the SoCal area BWW posters... =)
Anyway, the film is called A Couple of Days and Nights and was written and directed by Vaughn Verdi. My band Velvet Chain's music is also used extensively in the movie, which also features tracks by legendary rock group, Heart.
You can go to the movie site to find out more about the movie, see pics, watch the trailer, etc.

The movie stars me, David Lago (7th Heaven, the Young and the Restless - Emmy Winner), Shonda Farr (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jack & Bobby), Allison Munn (What I Like About You, Elizabethtown), Joseph Peracchio (Smack, Into the West), KW Miller (Wicked - nat'l tour) and Deirdre O'Connell (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).
As I said, the film is world-premiering at the Hollywood Film Festival at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood on October 22 at 4pm. Tickets are $11, but if you become an Arclight member (which is free), they're $9. A link to where you can purchase them id at the bottom of this post. If you click on that, scroll down until you see "Crown Heights/A Couple Of Days And Nights." Click on 4pm. A word of warning: they screwed up over at the festival, so when you go to purchase and print the tickets, it'll only say "Crown Heights." Don't worry. You're purchasing tickets for our film. ("Crown Heights" is a 5 min. short showing before our feature.)
Here's the movie synopsis:
A COUPLE OF DAYS AND NIGHTS
A love story brimming with comic irony as values clash over creativity, integrity and fame.
Jula (Erika Amato) is a sultry lead singer searching the crowd for two things; a boyfriend with a "Greek-Roman Profile", and anybody with "full-on signing power". Micah (David Lago) is a wannabe in love with BMW's, pink martinis, the fairer sex and the dream of being the next single-name success story. Scott (Joe Peracchio) is a trust fund baby whose inner voice is constipated from the constant pressure of an over-bearing family business. And at the heart of this pandemonium is Rhonda (Shonda Farr), the freak out of water trying to document it and follow her dreams in the face of all obstacles, especially herself.
These four artists are swimming in their desires to be understood, accepted and loved...but drowning in the overwhelming pressures of selling out in the highly commercial world of LA. A world where they learn that dreams can drive you, desire can destroy you, but love can find you in A Couple of Days and Nights.
As an interesting side-note, a lot of the actors in this film have extensive experience on the theatrical stage as well as in film…
Allison Munn starred as "Luisa" in The Fantasticks at New York's Sullivan Street Theatre for more than 500 performances as well as performing in The Wild Party at the prestigious Manhattan Theatre Club.
KW Miller is currently on the national tour of Wicked.
Joe Peracchio is the founder and artistic director of the Tricklock Theatre Company in Albuquerque, NM, whose current original production, The Glorious and Bloodthirsty Billy the Kid-The Greatest Serial Killer of Our Time! A Wild West Show and Cabaret, has been touring the US and Europe to rave reviews.
Dierdre O'Connell has appeared on Broadway in The Front Page and Salome, as well as many Off-Broadway productions.
And, as you may know, I make my living primarily from my work as an Equity actor here in LA. (Most recently, I finished a 3-month run as "Dorothy Brock" in 42nd Street at the Welk Resort Theatre in San Diego this past summer.)
Hope to see you at the premiere!
~Erika

Um..hi guys!
This particular post is actually a follow-up post. I posted about the movie once before, on the Broadway board, at which time I apologized for putting it there, since it wasn't really a "Broadway" post, but at the time, I couldn't get the off-topic board to accept my posts.
I think this is my first time posting on the off-topic board...but for you to say I "rarely" post is a little unfair...I've been posting since August '04. I do mainly read other people's posts, though, or post within other people's threads...I don't tend to start my own topics. Well, you can check my posting history if you like.
Anyway, the reason I put "tickets on sale now" in the subject was so that people who already read the post on the Broadway board wouldn't think it was just the same old info or a duplicate post. The tickets literally went on sale last night.
Hope that explains things. And I am excited that I'm in a movie, and I thought maybe people on the board might be supportive of that... I don't know how else to express myself... Maybe because I've been in charge of promoting my band for so many years, my posts look like ads??? *sigh* Sorry to have offended anyone...
You know, this just hasn't been a good day. =(

Don't let anyone burst your bubble, girl! You be proud and claim your sh*t! Spread the word... and if someone has something against it (jealousy maybe?) then try not to pay attention. Congrats!

Awww... Thanks so much, Popular! You don't know how much I needed to hear that. It's been a bit of a rough day. =)
For what it's worth, I edited the post and the subject a bit, so maybe it won't seem so self-serving. I actually care about that sort of thing...which is probably why I'm so easily hurt. My husband always tell me I'm too damn nice! LOL
Anyway, thanks for the support! And wish us luck! (We're hoping to get a distributor...)
erika, I truly mean congrats. I also truly did not recognize your screenname, so it kinda hit me the wrong way. I also did not mean to offend, and hope you were not offended...and truly, truly mean Congrats.
think I'll get rid of my original post

Oo, I'd like to go, but I'm stuck on the east coast. Break a leg with it, though!

ShbrtAlley44: Thanks so much! And you're not "stuck" on the East coast...that's where Broadway is, damnit! (To somewhat loosely quote Julian Marsh in 42nd St...)
Speaking of which, I'm going back East next month to visit some friends and see their shows, and I'm very excited!! I have a friend who's been doing STOMP since the beginning of time, and I also have a friend who's one of the Four Seasons in Jersey Boys. Can't wait!!
Just wanted to clear up that my original post was in response to Elphaba's original post, which has now been deleted.
I was basically encouraging Erika to post whatever she wants to on this board, regarding her movie. Why not promote it? That's part of being an actor.
Congrats and good luck!

Thanks so much, Shameless!
And yes, to be clear, Love4Cheno and I were obviously replying to a post that's no longer there.
And again, I appreciate the support!
Sending out a gazillion postcards, now. (Blech)
If it comes to the Chicago Film Festival, I'll be sure to catch it!
Merde!

Hey, Elphaba -
You know, I don't know about that. I know they're going to be submitting the film to several more festivals...I'll ask the director when I see him tomorrow. =)
Congratulations Erica!

Thanks so much, Glebb! I've been getting kinda nervous about the screening, which is funny, 'cause it's not my first indie film festival... But anyway, I had this total actor-anxiety dream yesterday, where I was at the festival, watching the movie, and my character was cut out of almost the whole thing. Like, my part went from being huge to being blink-and-you-missed-it. And I was just sitting there, in the theater, with all these people I invited there, too, and I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO embarrassed, 'cause I told them all I was one of the leads. Blech. At least it was just a dream!
Well I can't be there physically (you know why) but I'll be there in spirit. Let us know how it goes!
