My Super Sweet Sixteen

What is with all these spoiled stupid bitches?

This is a disgusting representation of teenage girls. Are we supposed to be hating them? (And not "hating" in the jealous term)

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I Know! They're all crazy... but I'm still strangely addicted to the show...

I know a person who was approached to do the show, but she declined because MTV purposefully (and successfully) shows these girls in such a negative light...

I just can't imagine how anyone could ever act that way towards their parents or any other human being

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

Are you kidding? From the epiode I saw, the parents LET their child act this way.

So sad.

I really can't believe there are actually people LIKE THIS. It's so disturbing that if their favorite celebrity doesn't attend their party or if a friend didn't get them a $500-present, they go ballistic.
This is my signature.

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

I love how much their parties end up costing. For example, I caught the end of an episode the other night where the party was like, $500,000. Why not put your money to better use, like a charity or something? It's sickening, especially how at the end the girl was like "Well, now I'm known and the popular girl, that's all I wanted." Well that's just great! The world is such a better place because you are popular now!

did anyone see the episode where the girl's parents took her to that like ridiculous restaurant in la, and she was crying at the table because they didn't give her a car on her birthday...

i'm almost died, if i acted that way, well i'd probably be dead

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

Ever since they made it a law about smacking your child...

These are the "Time Out" kids.

I swear, if I started crying about something so petty, i would have got a pop in the mouth...
And if these were my daughters, I would have done the same.

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

There were a couple girls on this show that had everyone from their party bring like 10.00 for charity but even they were like "man, we'll spend at least 100,000." I've never even seen that much money at one time. I dk, if nothing else, this show always gives me a good luagh.

Torch, I know what episode you are talking about. It's the same episode in which the girl flew to Paris to buy a dress and ended up not getting anything at all. They are such spoiled brats, and even though they end up pissing me off, I am still addicted to this show!

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

GAAAHHH!!! I want to smack everyone on this show!

The one girls parents bought her a brand new 2005 Mustang for her birthday... but she was whining because the dealer hadn't gotten them in yet, so she didn't get the car ON her birthday!

Or that girl that flew to Paris for the dress... OOO I wanted to bitch slap back to last Tuesday! Her father was going to buy her a brand new red Mercedes sports car, but she said she didn't want it and cried when he said he wouldn't buy her a Land Rover!

I mean come on!!!! I can't watch this show... I get too emotional!

and by "emotional" do you mean...violent?
b/c if so I think that would include everyone who watches the show.

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

does anyone remember "rich girls"? They attended the Professional Childrens Scool or something like that, well on an episode of Celebrity Poker Show Down, someone was playing for that school as their CHARITY!!! It makes me sick that Tommy Hilfiger's "daughter" (adopted I think) go to a school that needs help raising money, c'mon!

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

Love it love it love it.

All my friends got together tonight and watched it, commercial free thanks to Coca Cola! HaHa. It was awesome. The girl was a total bitch and bitched out adults and things. She had a Moulin Rouge party. I want her to be my best friend.

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

Did you see the interviews with last season's people at the end? One of the girls had the audacity to say that it was because not everyone had the same wealthy lifestyle as them, so they didn't know what it was like. Um, I have many friends whose parents are just as, if not more wealthy than the people featured on this show, and none of them as big of brats as these kids were.

With the exception of Jackie (who I thought was sweet and the only one smart enough not to come back), all of their situations reeked of new money and parents wanting to flaunt their new status. It's just tacky.

This is my guilty pleasure show. I found myself almost screaming at one of the brats, Natalie, last episode. But yeah, Jackie was a sweatheart. Anyway, I think it's a pretty good show. It's becoming fun to yell at the TV.

ha. Someone mentioned Rich Girls. I saw Jaimie Gleicher (sp?) in the elevator in my old building once, and I see her around campus every now and then; she goes to my school. She wears those huge sunglasses ALL THE TIME, even inside - it's tres amusing.

I don't get MTV, but I saw the previews for this show and wanted to gag and laugh at the same time. I can't believe people like that actually exist.

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

At first I thought the show was MTV giving money to poor girls who couldnt afford any type of Sweet Sixteen, so they'd have a really high budget, so I was thinking "Oh, look, they're happy for this party...blah blah blah" then after watching a FULL episode I was like "Oh my god, they think every day is their super sweet sixteen." That show is really entertaining, for the bitchiness aspect of spoiled teens, but such a waste of money!!
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

re: My Super Sweet Sixteen

Definitely a waste of good air time, but, it's such a guilty pleasure.

Good thing this show wasn't aroudn when I was in school, cause this girl actually threw a sweet 16 at this golf course/condo/resort thing near our hometown and it was crazy!

Something I think is funny. These girls ask for cars for their birthday, knowing their parents are going to buy them whatever the want. So question, why not abuse the system and get (dare I say?) a Mercedes, or BMW, or some ****.. intead of a MUSTANG. I don't understand.

re: My Super (Slutty) Sweet Sixteen

I'm actually watching the show for the very first time right now, after seeing tons of commercials for it.

I sort of want to throw up. I can't believe people are ACTUALLY so greedy, jealous and digustingly awful. I've never seen more sense of entitlement in my LIFE.

... guilty pleasure TV, though. For some reason, I can't turn it off!

re: My Super (Slutty) Sweet Sixteen

I watched two, then I decided to get my ass off the couch. I watched the one with those triplets from outside of SF (I think?) and then one with a slightly heavy-set girl called Sophie. Her theme was Moulin Rouge. BITCH, she was!
