re: My grapefruit tree is blooming......

Ohhh - even better.

Some weeks, I will eat three or four of them.

I may have to meet you soon just to sneak a few fresh grapefruit.

For some reason, that sounds a bit dirty, but I really do like them! And, I don't think I would describe as many on here as "Sweet and juicy".

My mom has plum, lemon and orange trees in her backyard. Yum.

actually they don't have fruit until late fall.....and then we eat them every day......we only had one tangering last year, but tons of grapefruit. As soon as Steve realizes that his avocado tree is useless and won't do anything, I'm ripping it out for a lemon tree

My mom has an avacado tree, and every once in a while it blooms = and she gets these tiny little avacados that have some edible insides.

She also has a huge ****willow tree that started when older my planted a branch from kindergarten.

She has an amazing back yard. That is why I probably have a black thumb! And, my cats would eat everything.

Elphaba, try a Myer Lemon tree. My brother lives in No Ca and has one in his backyard. It is less tart and very fragrant then regular lemons. I usally fill one suitcase up with lemons when I visit. Makes great lemonade, sorbet, and my sister in law makes a wonderful lemon spongecake for Pesach.

Wait a minute! Where do you live, Elph?

And lwyr-where do you live? I don't see a hint of a tulip here in NY, and if anyone is looking for it it's me! We didn't even get forsythia or dafodils yet!

It's not spring here Elphie. It's cold and there's even some snow still hiding in the shady spots. I'd love to grow fresh citrus! I'm going to grow some stuff this summer-- at least some Tomatoes-- it's the only way to get decent ones here.

errrr... happy spring...

it's snowing here.
while we were driving past the park, we saw about 10 robbins just standing on the grass like they didn't know what to do.

I'm jealous! They must look beautiful. We have a tree in my backyard that blooms with these beautiful white flowers but it doesn't bloom til mid-April.
Am I cut out to spend my time this way?
