My iPod Has Been Stolen...

I remember reading something here about how iPods could be tracked to where they were last synced--anyone have any info on it? I have been searching, but have yet to find anything.

Interestingly enough - they can be traced. But I think it's just to the original owner - we had a hit and run case here in San Francisco last month. A woman was jogging in the park, and was hit by a car and they took off. The woman had no ID, but they were able to trace her to the i-pod she was listening to at the time of the accident, and that's how they notified next of kin.

Aw, I'm so sorry, Ebonic_Singer. I am basically Steve Jobs' bitch and love my iMac and all Apple related gadgetry, so I sympathize! Do you live near an Apple store? If so, maybe you can stop in and speak to one of the guys/gals on the floor? I always find their staff to be friendly and knowledgeable.

that was me who posted the message about the stolen ipod.

my boyfriend called IMAC and the winnipeg police dept.- both of them confirmed that there is NO tracking device on the ipod.

my deepest condolences though I was in shock for a good week- it feels like everyone is staring at you when you don't have earbuds attached to your ears

i dont think it's a tracking device more like when you plug in your ipod your computer knows whose it is.

ugh Just wanted to add my condolences too... I think I would lose my soul if I didn't have my iPod. lol
