It is 5:15am.. I am sleepy as hell. I have been awake since three am.
I woke up late last night hearing sounds of people in the house. At first, I was freaked.. I live in a bad neighborhood (until I move into my new place next month!!) then remembered that my kid siblings are on spring break and most likely still up raising hell. I looked at my cell phone and saw that it was about 12:30. I put a pillow over my head and went back to sleep until a ringing phone at 3 am woke me up. A ringing phone at 3 am is NEVER a good thing.
It was the police.
My kid brother turned 15 just a week and a half ago. He has been getting into huge trouble lately skipping school and hanging at the creek by the high school wehere the druggies and punks hang and smoke and drink, etc. Tonight, he stole my mother's car. He swiped the keys, showered, dressed, primped and got himself ready after everyone was in bed, called his friends, told them to get ready, then stole my mother's car and picked up his friends to go for a joyride.
A cop spotted them on the road and for some reason decided to stop them.. but they didn't stop.... my kid brother RAN FROM THE COPS.. we are talking CAR CHASE.. lights and sirens... the whole works. They finally caught them.. had the car surrounded by five cop cars... and had guns drawn.. ordering the little ****out of the car, making him get down on the ground, cuffing, in the backseat of the cop car.. the whole nine yards.
Right now, he is being processed at the jail. In the morning, we have to contact a bondsman and post his bail. We don't know exactly what he will be charged with yet.. running from the cops is a given.. maybe felony auto theft.. breaking curfew is a minor misdemeanor.. and so is the fact that he had chewing tobbaco on him.
Yes, ladies and gentleman.. boys and girls.. my family... now official and 100% certified white trash.

Oh jeezus...
You poor thing. That sounds terrible...
Hopefully it will give your brother a nice kick up the ass though...

It probably doesn't make you feel any better to know he's not the first teenager to get in trouble. Better it happens now while he's young and the consequences aren't as harsh. Hope he learns from this, broadwayguy.

Please.... I saw this coming more clearly than a fat kid chasing down a Krispy Kreme truck. What suprsied me was that he RAN from the cops.... and when the polic called, they said that the other brats in the car with him were "well known" to the police. Of course, they were not driving, so they get off easy.
awww bg2 that sucks
but atleast you admit "white trash" with pride...but Im sure you are the apple that falls further from the tree!

Boy please.. this apple didn't even hit the ground. I am far too luscious and juicy for that. I was picked and carried away... now I am in the supermarket waiting to be taken home... now.. I just have to find out if I will be dropped on the ground and shattered or partake in great lips.
ANOTHER phone call.. about his ARAIGNMENT
lucious and juicy...that's hot bg2

Well, I'm no lawyer BG2, but as far as the auto theft charge, I would think that since the car belongs to your mother, she would have to press charges, so you may not have to worry about that.
As others have said, at least it happened now, when he is young. I personally have seen young people "bounce back" after being slapped with reality.

well, the little ****is being arraigned today.. and they haven't asked if they will be pressing charges about it.. but the words "stolen car" and "evaiding arrest" came out of the officer's mouth..

that's not fun...
*hugs* to cheer up bg2!

it's a felony... and the cops made the stop... it isn't like other cases where it is hear-say and they need someone to press charges and testify. There is no disputing what he did here.

Seriously, it's the construction of illogical metaphors like that that certify you as 100% white trash way more than any behavior of your sibling.
And I believe your brother would be "the felon" - he committed a felony.

I think he was going for a Hairspray: The Musical, or Chicago: Live kind of thing. My Kid Brother: The Felony.
Oh okay! Thanks for the clarification.

Well I think what keeps you from being "Trash" is your shame that your little brother did this. True trash says "Hot Damn! I hope this means Toby'll be on COPS!"
Was he wearing really really oversize pants? And did he get out of the car & Run or just give up when the cops cornered his car?

Did he try to scale a chainlink fence? Did his mullet get caught in the barbed wire?
Everyone has a little white trash in the family. Especially if you grow up in Texas. Some just hide it better than others.

I actually think the whole concept is classist.

yes.. by "the felony" I was referring to what he did.. not HIM.
I am not white trash. lol. I used that metaphor because it is one that he himself had used. I am VERY ashamed. He is out of Juvenile Hall for the moment and waiting for arraingment. I am shocked they released him. They said he wouldn't be released beforehand.. even if it took two days. If he is sentenced to "time behind bars", it can be at least 6 months...

Why should you be ashamed? Other than for the fact that you have a brother who doesn't understand that fat people don't chase anything, even Krispy Kreme trucks?
