I shouldn't even be writing this, because I know they'll come running now, but we've only ever had two roaches in my apartment (that we've noticed). One my brave roommate killed, and the other showed up in one of our bathrooms while the brave roommate wasn't home. My other roommate sprayed it repeatedly with bathroom cleaner, then somehow coaxed it into a Ziploc bag, which she zipped closed and then made me step on (with my sneakers on). She then put the crushed roach in the Ziploc bag in another plastic bag, tied it tightly, and took it directly out to the outside trash cans. I think the only reason we haven't seen a roach since is because they're afraid of similar treatment.

Aaaand, there's another reason for me not to move below the Mason-Dixon Line. Gah. I got freaked out enough the last time I had a regular-sized roach in my apartment. And yes, I killed it, by using enough bug spray to turn the floorboards radioactive. I don't go out of my way to kill bugs, but roaches are a health hazard and I'm selfish like that.

I also dislike ants. It's so gross if they crawl on you and you kill it, but then you feel like they are still on you.

And I had the creepiest dream the other night. There was a giant brown spider in my house. I ran away from it instead of doing something because it looked like one of those things you find in the jungle.
