Looks like there will be no post season for Yankee Stadium's last season.
They should take the rest of the year to play younger players to assess their needs for off season.

Maybe trade A Rod & get 3 or 4 players who can help now. He has not exactly been setting the world on fire at the plate.
Jeter is not getting any younger but probably has 2 or 3 seasons in him .

Oh, they need a SS too unless Yankee nation is happy with a rapidly declining player who has always been overrated defensively.
Of course, they have a great upgrade on the team already - he's playing 3B for some moronic reason.

Thanks as I did not want to break the news that Jeter was getting older.
Please stop with him being Hall of Fame Material. He is a very good player but the HOF is for those special ones.

I'm afraid the Hall of Fame's turned into the Walk of Fame where everyone and anyone can have a star. It's not so much a prestigious honor anymore.
As for the Yankees, all I can say is -- The Curse of A-Rod!
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia

Posted: 8/16/08 at 6:32pmWell, now that the Yankees' hope of a postseason is gone, I'm sure A-Rod will be hitting homers nonstop.

Posted: 8/17/08 at 5:04pmYeah, it must be Joe Torre's fault.

Posted: 8/17/08 at 5:33pmHe got out while the getting was good. He had a good run & brought them back to respectability. It was time for him to escape the Bronx Zoo.

I love the fact that Torre is no managing Manny in LA.
And I would say that Jeter is Hall of Fame player, as much as I dislike him. Rookie of Year, Silver Slugger, 3 Gold Gloves, All-Star and World Series MVP Awards and four World Series Rings. He nearly has 2500 hits now and could easily pass 3000 before he retires. There are plenty of guys in the Hall of Fame now who accomplished considerably less than Jeter has. Look at Bill Mazeroski, who has one shining moment in history and a lot of doubles.
