The NBA announced Friday that it will donate the proceeds from Collins’ jersey sales to the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and the Matthew Shepard Foundation. The league will also auction Collins’ autographed, game-worn jerseys to benefit the same organizations.

“I’m thrilled to work with the league to support two fantastic organizations, both of which work tirelessly to ensure LGBT youth get the resources and assistance they need to be successful in life,” the Brooklyn Nets center said.

That is great news. GLSEN is a great organization and I'm thrilled the NBA wasn't grabbed and devoured by the HRC.

Years and years ago I got a job at GLSEN through a temp agency at their office's front desk. I was told right away that I wasn't allowed to use the bathroom or get lunch or go into any area that wasn't "the front office desk space". At the end of the day some guy (the boss?) came out and thanked me and said he'd see me tomorrow. I told him the only way he'd see me tomorrow is if he came to the temp agency to see me letting them know what kind of work environment they had there.
