I just ordered Angels in America and Les Miserables in concert. Also Elaine Stritch. So there!
I've had Netflix for quite awhile, LOVE them. At times my movies arrive back to them the day after I mailed them.
They are a great service. I do the three movies at a time plan
I had it for a short time. I ordered a total of 7 films - 4 came cracked - and when I sent them back, sometimes the replacements came cracked as well.
I cancelled it.
true, it's a great service, but i think it depends on how close you are to one of their distribution points. here in atlanta we had a problem with the envelopes coming apart in the mail, resulting in delays and returned shipments. we found BLOCKBUSTER.COM to be much speedier and reliable for us.
Yeah I couldn't resist Blockbuster either, its cheaper...at least when I had it...and there are the 2 free instore rentals...and they gave me Shrek 2 for free when I signed up...which was really the key to my heart...
I tried both Netflix and Blockbuster and I found Netflix to be far superior. It has more options and Blockbuster had issues sending me the next movie at the top of my queue. They also send me disc 2 of "Arrested Development" before they sent disc 1 and, really, what good is that?
I've gotten 2 cracked discs from Netflix in 2 years and both times, I sent them back and received a replacement. The Netflix website also lets you rate the movies you've seen and connect with other friends on Netflix so you can see what they're renting and what other movies they liked.
love Love LOVE Netflix. I just love that people mention a film they enjoyed, I search and there it is. there is no going to blockbuster and trying to narrow down what you want then forgetting what you wanted next time. I love the queue and being able to change the order. I got Broadway: The American Musical last. And folks talking about it on here made me get Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd. I don't feel bad getting things I have already seen. It makes me happy...lol.

A huge upside of Netflix is the selection- you're not going to find all those obscure foreign movies and filmed musicals in your average little neighborhood rental place.
*raises hand*
Another NetFlix devotee here! I've never had any problems with it in the past two years. But I am really close to a distribution center, so that may play a part in my good luck. Anyway, I definitely recommend it.
I live in Astoria, so I get movies very quickly.
I LOVE it!! You get cracked discs or unplayable discs every so often--but I have had great customer service. If you report it online, they mail the replacement before you even put yours in the mail box.
My roomies and I share an account with 5 movies at a time. And it lets you set up individual queues for those roomies.
I might think of joining NETFLIX if they ever come around to actually having more than 20 "Classic Movies" in their classic movie section. I perused their site one day with someone at work and was shocked by their "selection".
PS...Ferris Buehler, while highly enjoyable, is NOT a "classic" movie. Or, if that is what Netflix thinks of as a classic film, then open up a new section called "real classics" or "vintage movies".
*end rant*
i have blockbuster and recieve the movies pretty much every 2 days, but i live in the middle of nowhere NY. I have always recieved my cheque in complete order and you do still get in store rentals too
I love Netflix. They're very quick and the selection can't be beat.
Love it! No problems thus far. Admittedly, there is a distribution center in Coppell, very close to Dallas.
I did not join Blockbuster, assuming that, like the stores, they would not carry director's cuts and the like with material they deemed objectionable.
I love being able to save movies that I missed in the theater or that I feel are "rentals" for when they come out on DVD.
I have NetFlix and love it.
JustMe: The Browse function you used does not pull up "all" of the classic films they have. There are thousands, I have more than 50 "Classic" films in my cue. Once you are actually a member the site even has Classics divided into "Musical" "Noir" etc. (Ferris Buehler, may have been one of the "popular classics")
I recommend going and searching for a particular film and seeing if they have it.
Did you have one in mind Jerby?!?
I had the service for about 1 year and only had to send back a faulty dvd once.
On Netflix for a month and it's going well for me. I hate that you can't get a movie every day, tho. It sometimes takes a little time for the movies to get to you--although it goes alot faster than you might think. Great selection!
Well, don't tease me jerby; throw out a title!
