The smell is really strong in the Hamilton/Trenton area. We can smell smell it inside the office.
Hope any BWWers in the area are okay.

Posted: 4/7/14 at 9:37amI have such a bad sense of smell that I didn't even notice, but I did think it was way hazier than it should be for before a big rain.

Posted: 4/7/14 at 10:33amI smelled it when I left home (in Hudson County), but didn't really think much of it until I smelled it AGAIN after getting off the PATH at 34th Street. (We have a neighbor with a wood burning stove on their back porch, so it's not totally unusual to smell burning wood, but I was confused when I could still smell it in Manhattan.)

Posted: 4/7/14 at 11:01amI guess I should be fortunate to live up in Sussex County. No smells like that up here. I hope everything is okay with trying to get this fire out though.

Every article I find states the smoke can be seen/smelled in NYC. Not much about NJ or the actual fire though. As far as I can tell it's about 50% contained.
