NON-WICKED Fans, Please Stop Liking Rodgers & Hammerstein or Leonard Bernstein

Okie-dokie, I just wanted to hurl at some of you and tell you to lay off of works like OKLAHOMA! and MY FAIR LADY.

Just because you like them doesn't mean you have to continue to enjoy these productions and not like a certain show with songs by Stephen Schwartz that opened at the Gershwin Theater on October 30, 2003.

C'mon, you have no right to debate the merits of Gwen Verdon in SWEET CHARITY versus Debbie Allen in SWEET CHARITY or the discuss the witty lyrics of Stephen Sondheim.

Just because you don't share the mass adoration for the aforementioned musical that opened at the Gershwin on October 30, 2003 doesn't give you the right to discuss ANYTHING ELSE in the world of entertainment. Give the kids and their obsession a break and don't even think about trying to educate them about the rich history of Theatre that started QUITE A WHILE before October 30, 2003.

Oh, and by the way, get a life.

"Where do you guys get all the extra money to see Wicked 10 times? That's crazy. I love Wicked don't get me wrong, but 10 times in 2 years, you have too much extra time and money."

Main Board, How many BROADWAY shows have YOU seen???

I'm sorry, Mary_Ethel! I won't ever like a Rogers & Hammerstein musical ever again! I won't enjoy them anymore, I promise!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

but Mary_Ethel, I had a dilema. Patrick Wilson was in Oklahoma, and I love Julie Andrews to death, so you see, I can't help but appreciate the shows! please forgive me, otherwise Id be totally with you!
"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."

Care to demonstrate, love?

And a Stephensondheim is surprisingly benign, causing growth of brain cells, increased rapidity of the tongue, increasing diction, and a sudden affinity for Bernadette Peters. However, the antibodies it releases in your system react quite strongly to Webberitis and Schwartzosis.
