Connecting tomorrow through Kennedy on our way to St Thomas. I just read there is a storm coming.. but so far I can't find any kind of travel forecast. How bad is it expected to be? And how bad do delays get at Kennedy?
Latest weather alert says a potential for 3 to 6 inches of snow from 6 am tomorrow to midnite, but who knows if they'll be right.
They're calling for it. That probably means we'll get nothing. Saturday is supposed to be clear. We'll probably get a ton since I flying home. Sigh.
DAME, I would suspect that Kennedy's website might have an update in the morning. I just got off of the phone with my good friend in NYC and he said that the snow was supposed to start tonight. So early tomorrow you may get some info from the airport. Have fun in St. Thomas!
The reports around here are varying from rain/snow mix to heavy snow alerts - so apparently NO ONE knows. Have fun on vacation!
Well.. I guess I put it out there and I brought this on myself.. American just called and my flight has been cancelled ( they wouldn't say if it was because of the weather). We are booked on the Red Eye tomorrow night now and they are letting us return two days later. Still have to connect thru NY .. That storm better be gone.

My aunt passed away yesterday and the funeral is in New Jersey around 2. Should be a fun ride out there.
I'm flying to Europe tomorrow evening from JFK and then connecting to a different airline to get home. I.e. if I my miss my connecting flight in Europe due to my outbound flight from JFK being delayed, I am f*cked.
It is so weird because the JFK airport website is not reporting any delays or cancellations. But if you go to try to book a flight that leaves out of JFK tomorrow.. nothing seems available. So I don't know if my cancellation was weather related or the flight just got canceled for some reason and everything else is sold out.
There will be delays at JFK if the wind blows.
I have never once gotten out of there on time.
But canceling a flight on you a day before?
Hey Dame..I was watching New England Cable News just now and they say there would be delays at Logan Airport (BOS) due to domino effect of a probable delays from New York and Chicago. Sorry to say that.. I hope everything works out for you!

Dame, there are school closings in Chicago and not a flake of snow has fallen!
Dame -- my aunt was supposed to come home on a flight from Toronto tomorrow, but the airline called her this morning to say the flight was canceled and she'd have to come home tonight instead. I know it's not NYC, but they're not expecting anything to be flying in, out or through Toronto tomorrow.
I guess it beats finding out in the airport.
NYC is on a "severe weather alert" for Friday through Sunday.
If the midwest and Las Vegas (!) got snow, it shouldn't be a surprise that we're getting some.
Dame--can you get a flight from LA to Miami and from Miami to St. Thomas?
I tried that. they are booked solid. They gave me the option of the red eye tomorrow or a refund.
NYC latest forecast for my area code 10036 midtown manhattan

That is what Mrs. Brd asked me last night!
Jenna, I'm in Buffalo (we're pretty close to Toronto) and it is white out blizzard conditions here right now. It took me an hour to get home from the gym, which usually takes 10 minutes.
Good luck to you Dame! Hope you make it ok!
They just announced 3 hour delays at JFK. I imagine it's actually much worse. It's coming down pretty hard right now. 5 hour delays at Newark...
Delays? Most flight to JFK today are cancelled. I am now rebooked again on the red eye but for tomorrow ( Saturday night) .
Oh my! Drive safe, StockardFan (and everyone else in the area)!
And I hope that your re-rebooked flight works out for you, Dame.
LOL, thanks Jenna! I'm not going anywhere else for the rest of the day!
