The New York Times is sending Campbell Robertson to cover Iraq. Obviously his experience writing gossip about Cheyenne makes him well qualified.

Let's hope they buy the man some decent protection: flak jackets, a good helmet, plus an iPod full of Cast Recordings in case he gets lonely.

Is this part of the NYT restructuring that's been going on? I know they pushed Lawrence Van Gelder into retirement, after 30+ years at The Times.

He's used to covering events that are impeccably stage managed fantasies that are created and funded by old white men far far removed from real life. Sounds like he's covering Iraq already.

It's not like any other writer at the times has any real journalist integrity. The paper is a rag and everyone knows it. The Republicans b!tch because they think it is a liberal paper. The liberals hate it because it WAS a mouth piece for Bush and his Iraq war.

It's a disgrace and this comes as no surprise. Most media outlets in this country are run out of megaconglomerate's entertainment divisions.
