i've heard so much about this movie. all my friends love it. i didn't see it yet, so i feel SO out of the loop. can anyone give me a summary?
You have to be in the mood to watch it, but I love this movie. It has no plot, but the characters are adorable, and I would be lying if I said I didn't nearly pass out from laughter.

Napoleon Dynamite is a masterpiece of mindlessness. I love it to death. I can't remember the last time I was so throughly entertained by a movie.
Favorite moments? I love the tater tots thing, and I think I need a 'Vote For Pedro' shirt.

It was an okay movie, I got a few laughs out of it but that's about it.
Everyone is constantly quoting it. A few people I know even know the dance, which is pretty funny.
"Napoleon" and "Mean Girls" are destined to be teen cult classics.
I agree, Broadway. NAPOLEON was funny the first time around, but gets funnier and funnier each time I see it. It's so brilliantly funny, sometimes I can't take it.
"Things are getting pretty serious..."
"Do the chickens have large talons?"
"Sorry I'm late, I was taming this wild honeymoon stallion for you..."

Some of my favorites...
"Too bad, Grandma said she doesn't want you here when she gets back because you've been ruining everybody's lives and eating all the steak!"
"Heck, yes!"
"Lucky!"
"You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills... Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills."
"Well, things are getting pretty serious right now. I mean, we chat online for, like, two hours every day so I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious."
"Why don't you go eat a decroded piece of crap!"
The only way such a clean movie made it so far is because of it's randomness and hilarity!
My favorites are just all the times he says "What do you think?!?" or "Heck yes!" or "Whatever I feel like I wanna do, gosh!!" ...Maybe I will, gosh!!"
Haha...unwinding the medieval soldier thingy and dangling out the school bus as the beginning scene just makes the whole movie.
"Grandma called and said you have to leave cause you're ruining everybody's lives and eating all our steak!"
It's dry humor, but very funny. And yes, it does have a plot. It's a classic underdog story where the loser unexpectedly becomes a winner and gets the girl in the end. If you grew up in the 80s, it's funnier to the max...infinity! The only thing that really confused me was trying to figure out what year the story took place. I assume it is supposed to be modern day, but the mixing of 80s and 90s was really confusing. I guess because they did such a good job with the 80s details (which most retro 80s films DO NOT), that I found it hard to believe that kids that young today could be living in such a fashion vacuum while others are not. And almost all the music was 80s, but there were rollerblades, the internet and the rap-gangsta look that didn't exist in the 80s. I enjoyed it nonetheless, but I was absolutely baffled. And yes, I knew kids EXACTLY like Napolean when I was in junior high and high school.
IDIOT!
Napoleon is my #1 hero of the year. Mr. Incredible and Hellboy are right behind.
I havent seen this, and I was ABOUT to but then someone told me Haylie Duff was in it and I was NOT gonna watch anything with a Duff in it.
Actually, Duff does well with what little she has. She is surprisingly good as the small-town Regina George.
