PALIN FAMILY SHOCKERS: WHAT SARAH'S REALLY HIDING!
The NATIONAL ENQUIRER’S exclusive ongoing investigation of GOP VP Nom Sarah 'Barracuda' Palin’s goes far beyond a mere teen pregnancy crisis this week!
The Enquirer’s team of reporters has combed the Alaskan wilderness to discover the hidden truth about Gov. Palin’s family, which has become a central part of political identity.
The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that Sarah's oldest son, Track, was addicted to the power drug OxyContin for nearly the past two years, snorting it, eating it, smoking it and even injecting it. And as Track, 19, heads to Iraq as part of the U.S. armed forces, Sarah and her husband Todd were powerless to stop his wild antics, detailed in the new issue of The ENQUIRER, which goes on sale today.
THE ENQUIRER also has exclusive details about Track's use of other drugs, including cocaine, and his involvement in a notorious local vandalism incident.
“I’ve partied with him (Track) for years,” a source disclosed. “I’ve seen him snort cocaine, snort and smoke OxyContin, drink booze and smoke weed.”
The source also divulged the girls would do anything for Track and he’d use his local celebrity to manipulate other guys “to get them to steal things he wanted.”
“He finally did what a lot of troubled kids here do,” the source divulged. “You join the military.”
And as Gov. Palin has billed the state of Alaska for various expenses related to her children, as reported by The Washington Post, The ENQUIRER's investigation reveals that she was so incensed by 17-year-old Bristol's pregnancy that she banished her daughter from the house.
Another family friend revealed pre-prego Bristol was as much of a hard partier as Track was.
“Bristol was a huge stoner and drinker. I’ve seen her smoke pot and get drunk and make out with so many guys. All the guys would brag that the just made out with Bristol.”
When Sarah found out the teen was pregnant by high schooler Levi Johnston, she was actually banished from the house. As part of the cover-up, Palin quickly transferred Bristol to another high school and made her move in with Sarah’s sister Heather 25 miles away!
And the ENQUIRER also learned that Levi Johnston, the baby mamma’s future wedded dada, who was glad handed by John McCain at the GOP Convention, isn’t too happy about his impending shotgun nups either.
“Levi got dragged out of the house to go to Minnesota,” Levi’s friend told The ENQUIRER. “Levi realizes he’s stuck being with Bristol because her mom is running for Vice President.”
The friend also confided that both Bristol and Levi “broke up a few times and they definitely messed around with other people.”
Meanwhile, as members of the Palin family’s war viciously over “Trooper-Gate” and claims of Sarah’s extramarital affair have turned the political race into a chaotic arena of threats, denials and vicious attacks by political black ops, The ENQUIRER has discovered shocking new details about the red-hot affair scandal!

Gawker has the spread and this list of highlights:
* "Before joining the Army last September, Track partied all the time. I saw him do so many keg stands, and all he ever talked about was getting stoned."
* "Track was a master at playing people and paying them to get drugs, alcohol, steal car rims, Xbox games, you name it."
* "All the girls loved Track, but he was more into drugs and himself. He used his local celebrity status with the other guys to get them to steal things he wanted."
* "I've partied with Track for years. I've seen him snort cocaine, snort and smoke OxyContin, drink booze and smoke weed. OxyContin was definitely his drug of choice."
* Track was a full-on OxyContin addict in 2006 and 2007, the Enquirer says, and was mainlining the drug. Which is very bad.
* "I've smoked weed with Track many times. He was one of two kids in school that had a fake ID."

I don't give a damn about her kids, they aren't going to be 2nd in line.
But, if the Enquirer can come up with a bit of scandal, a la John Edwards, about her... then fire away.

I found this on a blog regarding the National Enquirer.
"The most common dismissal I've seen is that "it's just the Enquirer." After all, they're just a supermarket tabloid. They don't have any journalistic credibility.
I beg to differ.
I don't read the Enquirer, but I do know a little about their history. And to me, that gives them some credibility.
In 1981, they were sued for libel by Carol Burnett after they said she had been drunk in public. They lost that suit, and paid out a hefty sum. And they vowed that they would not make that mistake again.
Ever since then, the Enquirer has been exceptionally careful to not get caught in the wringer again. They double-check their sources, and make sure they have at least one person on the record making the allegation. And that caution has paid off.
The Enquirer -- probably in part because they don't subscribe to common journalistic ethical principles like "we don't pay sources" -- has nailed down quite a few major scoops over the years. They were all over the Monica Lewinski scandal, they broke a lot of the details. When OJ Simpson denied ever owning a pair of Bruno Magli shoes, the kind identified with the killer of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, they dug up a photo of him wearing a pair. They were also first with the word that Simpson had written a book called "If I Did It." They dug up the illegitimate child Jesse Jackson had fathered on one of his staffers, and that he had used his organization's money to pay her off. And they were the first to allege Edwards' affair with Hunter, and to say that she was pregnant with his child.
They are, when it all boils down in the end, a tabloid. They focus on celebrities and sensationalism and lurid headlines.
But as far as accuracy goes, the Enquirer has a damned good record. After the Carol Burnett lawsuit, they've gotten very, very careful -- kind of like the ex-smoker railing against the evils of tobacco. In fact, I'd put their record for accuracy above the New York Times, CNN, and the major network news operations.
You want to ignore the John Edwards/Rielle Hunter love child story? Fine. Just come up with a better reason than "it's just the Enquirer." Yes, they're slimy. Yes, they're bottom-feeders. Yes, they're paparazzi. Yes, they're scum.
But they have earned a reputation for accuracy, and it's only the fools who dismiss their reports out of hand.

I do wish they'd focus on her and not her effed-up kids.
But I'll take what I can get.

I agree it's about her. We live in a society obsessed with the behavior of teens, and when teens cross the line -- any line -- we are equally obsessed with the parenting decisions that clearly must be linked.
The Spears children -- when was the last time their shennanigans were viewed as separate from parental decisions? Or even Paris Hilton, and she's not a minor.
It's very disengenuous in this culture to focus on a Hollywood phenom's "narrative" as complete only when parents are critiqued, and then view a candidate for VP in a kind of vacuum. And if you are part of the party that seeks votes based on "traditional family values..." as BOTH McCain and Palin do, your parenting is part of the narrative, and part of the story worth exploring. I don't want to see these children shamed in public, but I do think it's hypocritical, as pointed out in the Times editorial today, to shove a child's military duty center stage and then demand all other behavior hands off.
Bottom line re candidates as parents: If you portray your children's choices as evidence of yours, then we have a right to analyze those choices.

"Getting married because you get knocked up" seems to be synonymous with Republican Family Values. That and getting divorced.
Remaining married despite problems, loving each other and raising healthy well-adjusted kids seems to be what Republicans hate.
I don't really get it.

I'm with Reggie on this one. That woman has spouted so many bold faced lies in her speeches that stories like this only dilute the real problems with her candidacy. Why aren't all the newspapers - and TV - bringing her to task over her statements about the wonderful pipeline she installed to make the whole country independent of foreign oil? When she speaks of it she uses the past tense, as if it's all a done deal and is proving its worth. In fact, the first inch of pipe has yet to be laid. In fact, it still hasn't received approval for it EVER to be laid. In fact, even if it gets approval tomorrow, it can't possibly be completed for a decade. In fact, nobody knows if the actual cost will be so prohibitive that the state of Alaska and the country could see their deficits rising for this item alone. And her bridge to nowhere? Pull out the newspaper reports that showed her lobbying for this funding. Play "Woodward & Burnstein" and FOLLOW THE MONEY. The money got there - and was never returned. As she and McCain brag on their fight against lobbyists and porkbarrel spending, track her path back to lobbying for even more pork after the "bridge" money came.
And on a slow news day - how about the environment, discrimination of gays, her great 'buy out' of the voters when she returned budget excesses to each individual and then went out and created a deficit by borrowing funds to build a sports stadium that's never been out of litigation.
Believe me - you can leave her family out of it and just concentrate on the stuff that directly affects each of us. If only someone would listen.
A click for life.

As always, Auggie (alliteration alert), I think you've expressed the issue very well, particularly when you say "If you portray your children's choices evidence of yours, then we have a right to analyze those choices."
I still say I'd rather they uncovered scandal and corruption than questionable parenting skills.
But yes, if she wants to make it an issue (and she does), then it's up for examination.

Dan Savage on Sarah Palin:
The GOP has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into abstinence "education" programs during the Bush years. I believe this enormous investment of public funds raises the obvious question: Is our children abstaining? Sarah Palin's aren't. Despite this massive outlay on the part of the American taxpayer and the example set by her Christian parents, Bristol Palin became sexually active while still in high school. Excuse me, but if abstinence education can't keep the daughter of the evangelical governor of Alaska off the c0ck, what hope is there for the daughters—and some of the sons—of average Americans?
I'm a cad for even writing this, of course, because shortly before Bristol and Levi were paraded before cheering throngs at the Republican National Convention, the Palins asked the media to respect their daughter's privacy.
Another special right: When it comes to respecting your family's privacy, Palin and the GOP see no need. They want to micromanage the most intimate aspects of your private life. And if their own kids fail to live up to the standards that Palin and the GOP seek to impose on your family, well, that's a private matter between the Palins, their daughter, their God, and the thousands of screaming imbeciles in elephant hats waving McCain/Palin signs on the floor of the Republican National Convention.
