I just saw a commercial for the Spamalot cast recording on Comedy Central
and I'm in FL

I've seen that one a couple times (as well as probably the one you're talking about - during South Park, right?) They also had it on BBC America, though that WAS during Monty Python's Flying Circus, so it's kind of obvious advertising.

Yes, it was during South Park
I could see it advertised during Flying Circus, but South Park? It just really surprised me

Well, virtually everyone in comedy was influenced (or at least said they were) by Monty Python, and most of them probably either find Spamalot very funny or REALLY want to see it (maybe they can't get tickets yet - or they can't afford them!).
