I used to love Kidman, but the string of remakes -- BEWITCHED, STEPFORD, BODYSNATCHERS (the last, strangely the best if least seen) -- and some plain old turkeys have made me wonder why she's A list.

Would be refreshing to see RABBIT HOLE go to someone else -- hey, how about Hallie Berrie? Another Oscar winner who hasn't made a watchable film in years. Or Charlize Theron? Or Hillary Swank? All these ladies win the gold and then make horror films about possession and locust plagues and (fill in the blank).

The fastest way to career suicide seems to be: win an Oscar before age 35. You're poison. Or maybe just stupid, surrrounded by dreadful advisors

Auggie you are so right. Now call me crazy but what is wrong with Nixon? She is a big name in hollywood. I don't get it. I think Zach Efron as 'Jason' could potentially get in an Ocsar nom, it's about time he wins one.

How is Nixon a name in Hollywood? She is only known for SEX & THE CITY around Hollywood. The only actress in the SEX & THE CITY who can open a movie is Sarah Jessica Parker and even she doesn't guarantee box office gold.
This should have been done as an HBO movie starring both Nixon and Slattery. That'd have been all kinds of amazing.

There is nothing big about Nixon in Hollywood and just because she did it on Broadway and got a Tony, it doesn't mean that the role belongs to her. There have been several productions of the play all over the world and I didn't hear them calling her to come and do it. Kidman is the one who chased the role, asked the author to write the script and is producing it, I don't hear David complaining, do you? Hollywood has nothing to do with this project, this is Kidman taking it to the screen. If Nixon wants to play the role in a film then she should buy the rights.

As for Kidman not opening a movie, she may not be able to open a movie anymore in the US but the rest of the world see things differently. That is why the studios continue to employ her. Most stars who open movies in the States have no BO power overseas unlike Kidman, she has made over $3bn and is in the top 10 of female BO stars. The studios felt the power of her overseas worth when Invasion flopped both in the States and overseas because Kidman did not promote the movie overseas.

As for those whining about her doing remakes, did anyone put a gun to your head to go see it? In between her remakes, she continues to work on original projects and directors, are you blind to that or do you think that the likes of Oliver Hirschbiegel, Noah Baumbach, Steven Shainberg, Luhrmann are not worth something. If the remakes bug you then go watch her work with these directors and stop whining about why you don't like her anymore. Bewitched was made 5 years ago, Stepford was made about 6 years ago, Invasion was made about 4 years ago, turn the page.

As for her immovable face, if it bugs you then stay home, she is not going to miss your money, she already is a millionaire. She is still a better actress than those who use their movable face to yell what they are feeling.

Her face doesn't move? get over it. When she starts looking like Mickey Rourke or Faye Dunaway then give me a bell.
